what i do is few kilometers from my home nagbabagal na ako para no need to idle pa.
pero kung mga short, slow drives lang i think no need to cool it off pa.
related article :
A turbo timer is a device designed to keep an automotive engine running for a pre-specified period of time in order to automatically execute the cool-down period required to prevent premature turbo wear and failure. After a period of driving when a turbocharger has been working hard, it is important to let the engine run at idle speed for a period of time, allowing the compressor assembly to cool from the lower gas temperatures in both the exhaust and intake tracts. At the same time the lubricating oil from the engine is able to circulate properly so the turbine won't burn the lubricating oil that would otherwise be trapped within the charger with the turbine rotating at high speed. With regard to modern automotive turbochargers, the need for a turbo timer can be eliminated by simply ensuring the car does not produce any 'boost' (during driving) for several minutes prior to the ignition being shut off.- Wikipedia

^^ Same approach tyo.
Noticed that a lot of the owners here are working out of the country. Meron bang regular users ng SF ninyo while you are away? If not, how do you keep your rides in tip-top shape? Do you just have the engine started everyday for a few minutes?
I asked this question kasi I did not use mine (CRDi) for more than a week and when I started the engine, daming usok na binuga, engine was also loud although only for a few seconds.
Ganyan din yung sa akin, almost touched the floor to get the right grip of the brake.
FINALLY!!! I got my SF last Thursday - 4WD CRDi Black. This ***y beast is definitely one sweet ride. My kids love it. So far so good, I appreciate the ride and handling of the SF. The stock audio is pretty good. I already had nitrogen pumped into the wheels and had tint (3M BalckChrome 35) installed yesterday. This black unit really needs TLC para looking good palagi. Will most likely upgrade my head unit this Dec...gusto kasi ng mga bata.
Thanks to all who shared valuable inputs to this forum. As i mentioned in my previous post, i joined tsikot to do my homework and the outcome is this Sweet ride....
Congrats on the new ride! Enjoy!
BTW, I just came from the Fort dealer today, they quoted 4K for the front+rear mudguards. I didn't get it as I read in the earlier thread that it should not cost that much. You might want to give them a call to check if they have it in stock.
Sir Rej248, CONGRATS sa bagong SF mo.
Sir Rej248 and sir Javoy, try to check with Hyundai Edsa. I just had my SF installed with mudguards last week and they have definitely the cheapest price. I tried to call several dealers first (sucat, alabang, binan, ortigas) and they all have standard price of around 3200+ for the whole set until, finally, I called EDSA branch and to my surprise 1,800 lang lahat. I immediately went there and had it installed, hirap kasi linisin ng talsik ng putik especially sa rear portion.
Will try to post pics within the week. Hyundai Edsa (Ito ba yung malapit sa Guadalupe?), will try going there on Tuesday to check out the mudguards. P/1800 ang mura naman nya, most of the dealers quoted P/3200+.
Ride is much softer at 30 psi and with the nitrogen, had it done at Minerva * P/50 per tire. The 3M BC 35 gives a good blend of Black and Silver shade..ang gusto ko sa kanya di sobra one way look with the black shade always showing. Yun nga lang sa gabi at extreme low lighting, medyo kita sa loob, but once light strikes the surface super ganda. I prefer this kasi malabo ang mata ko.
Still hunting for a headunit. spoiler and the mud guards. Will pots what i find.
* Sir Kimika : OEM rin ba yung mudguards, same as what the dealers are offering?
Share ko lang...took two officemates of mine(who owns a fort) for a spin and they were amazed at the handling and ride ng SF and the classy looking black interior. Aliw din sila sa stock audio (they had to change to aftermarket headunit & speakers) kasi ang ayos na raw without mofifications. To quote them " Value for money tong SF!, hayup".
