ang nakakatakot lang is the quality of diesel here in our country. i do hope hindi sya mag cause ng problems sa mga newer diesel engines released here in the Phils.

Mas mahal lang ng kunti ang regular PMS ng CRDi engine hindi dahil sa parts but because of the lube oil cost. Mas marami ang langis nya kesa gasoline counterpart.

Regarding "dirty diesel oil" thingy, wala pa akong naging problema in my about 3 years old tucson crdi. No problem at all in my manila-concepcion, tarlac-manila round trip.

actually, sa casa yes but if out of warranty na mas mura pa nga considering na hi-tech engine na crdi, for the parts just try to look around sa mga reputable auto suppliers like goodgear, fronte & others na suppliers din ng mga casa natin...although different but newer engine but still the same platform of underchassis and significant upgrades in amenities from starex gen.1 to 3, cant speak of the other models...

An air filter is an important part of a car's intake system, because it is through the air filter that the engine "breathes." An engine needs an exact mixture of fuel and air in order to run, and all of the air enters the system first through the air filter. The air filter's purpose is to filter out dirt and other foreign particles in the air, preventing them from entering the system and possibly damaging the engine.

Aside from filtering foreign particles, the air filter should also allow ample amount of air to the engine at full speed and load.

A poorly constructed filter can limit air to the engine.

Just replaced my dirty fuel filter last week, after replacement it noticed in hard restarting for almost 1 day used. For the second day in the morning I started my Starex CRDI 2005 model and won't start until now. What are the possible defects since the fuel filter had been replaced with new one? I pump the fuel filter pump just to remove the air bubbles, there's a fuel going to fuel pump. During starting, there’s a low pressure getting in to injectors. And today during push starting it will start but I wonder the engine check indicates in the dashboard, my starex before is in top condition, the 100% caused is a dirty fuel filter. Please help of what are the specific defects with my crdi engine. Your assistance is high appreciated. Thanks and more power

Newbee po, anybody advise me Re:Starex CRDI 2005 ko. 1st owner me, 52K palang mileage starex ko. One in the morning I discover na hard starting sya, I pump the fuel pump pero hindi tumitigas, so suspect ko agad fuel filter barado, pinalitan ko agad. The old fuel filter barado nga sobrang dumi.

Check all oring seals on the filter housing; check for loose hose connections on the filter. Fuel will not drip on this filter as it is on the suction side of the pump. It will pull in air.......result: hard starting.
