September 18th, 2009 09:38 AM #21Mas malaki ang damage kung maputol ang timing belt habang on-gear ka.
Yes, sabay na din ang tensioner dahil malapit na mag dry up ang grease lubrication nito. Mapuputol ang new timing belt pag nag stuck up ang bearing ng old tensioner.
Correct si Warrior. Naka timing chain ang mga Starex CRDI.

October 12th, 2009 05:02 PM #22Ours is a 2003 model hyundai starex. Old body but the engine is already CRDi. We experienced the engine shutting down on accelaration from 1st gear and the check engine lights up. We sent it to Hyundai macapagal, they replaced pit pump, fuel pump, pull down gas tank and lines and still nothing changed. Even installed new fuel rail pressure sensor along with the rail and it's still thesame. Sometimes the engine sounds like sinisinok. Have anyone experienced this? Need your help on this as we spent more than 50k and still nothing happened.

October 13th, 2009 04:11 PM #27I'm talking about warranty for previous work done. Toktok just spent 50K+ and the problem has not been resolved by the workshop.

I'm just wondering...given that P50K has already been spent trying to fix the problem, and suppose that the real reason was due to another defective part. So if the P50K worth of parts was not part of the solution, what can the car owner do on this case? Will he be stuck with the P50K-parts which were not defective in the 1st place? I doubt if the workshop will give him a refund or take the installed parts back.

It happens even in casas.
Its a good practice to monitor and question everything that is being replaced.
They have to justify what they charge you for. It doesnt hurt if you consult maski dito lang sa tsikot. Casas do upselling but sana naman solve ang problem.
that may be, but we all got plastic, young and old. we asked the lto guy, "papel ba po, o...
