I'm sure those were the 2013 HB models when the sedan wasn't in the market yet.
Now that the 2014 sedan diesel is in the market, aside from having more space for passengers and cargo is thousands of pesos cheaper...a wiser choice for taxi use.

Yep, P712k lang yung base variant and it's not really spartan bare.

But considering the merits of the Accent (being the only one in its class as diesel & quick, with a very appealing design) would you still buy this car knowing it does not have all discs & ABS?

Having all discs is not really a dealbreaker for me since this is a subcompact car. Kaya naman ng drums yan since magaan naman ung kotse. I'd like to have the abs though wala naman ako problema sa previous cars ko na wala nito. Lahat na ba ng hatch wala ng abs?

Yes, no more rear discs & abs. I think the 2013 Accent hatch 1.6L is the only car in the subcompact B segment with all discs. Just correct me if I am wrong. Noticed Festa is drum, not sure about Jazz. Mirage G4 is drum with ABS.

Jazz is also rear drums kahit sa totl.

previous model (2nd gen) totl jazz had discs in all 4. the 3rd gen went back to rear drums, but still has ABS and EBD in all models.

Amen to that! Dati masaya na ko na matipid. Sunod sa Eco Mode lagi. Once, I started turning it off, hindi ko na binalik. Parang "once you've gone black, you'll never come back"

Di naman bibilis pay off yung Eco Mode. Guide lang yun for proper shifting.

Parang guide nga lang to shift early. Minsan parang kakapusin ka pag sinunod mo pag nasa incline.

Sir sa tingin ko lang to ah, wala sapat na basis. Pag naka ECO mode On at sinusunod mu yung sa indicator, mas makakatipid ka sa consumption ng fuel kasi yung rev ng engine eh yung tamang rev lang sa specific gear. Pag ECO mode OFF, diba walang indicator, so ang tendency ng driver eh magRev ng mataas ang engine sa specific gear, mas lalakas ang consumption mo sa fuel. Halimbawa lang sir, 30kph ang takbo, nasa gear 1 ka lang tapos 2,500rpm na, parang mas matipid kung nasa gear 2 na sya na nasa 1,800rpm lang.

Mga sir, pakitama naman po ako kung mali ang nasabi ko. Maraming salamat.

Yung sa sinabi ni sir jeffvasquez28, pag kasi sinunod mu yung indicator sa ECO mode ON, parang mabibitin ka lalo na pag naovertake. halimbawa third gear ka cruising at 50kph tapos gusto na ng indicator magshift ka to fourth gear, minsan kasi alam mo na may ihahatak pa yung third gear mo parang ayaw mo pa magpalit agad. hahaha. pasensya na sir ah, hindi ko maexplain ng ayus.

in short pg nka 2,000+ RPM ka mas maconsumo ito sa gas. Which ECO Mode is trying to avoid once nka-on ito, it shifts to the next gear para balik 1,000+ rpm

We are just comparing/figuring out the pros and cons of having the eco mode on and off. it is better to experience the highs and the lows of our cars para na rin to educate ourselves further about it.

Eco on best suited in expressway drives. Sometimes, 4th gear ka pero computer suggests you shift to 6th since rev & speed optimal at 6th. Besides, be cautious when driving in the city with the Eco on. Baka mabangga kayo.
