tama hindi nga mabenta yan focus diesel, hindi na kasi practical sa panahon ngayon na bumili ng sedan na diesel dahil sa sobrang mahal ng presyo, sa price na above 1m, mag SUV na lang ako. kaya ok na din ang gas sa elantra.

Niche market na kumbaga. At part ng reason naman kung bakit hindi ganun ka mabenta ang Focus is kasi luma na siya at hindi talaga siya maganda at kahit naman ang gas na Focus hindi mabenta. Pero kung ayaw nila talaga ang diesel, huwag naman sana pati ang 2.0 na gas wala.

The Elantra should be as fuel efficient as the Honda, o kahit mas matipid.

IMHO that's fine for the midrange variant. But for the top of the line, couldn't they have been more competitive and benchmarked the Lancer EX instead?

Kung gagawin nilang 1.8 ang top end variant eh di wala na silang edge sa power department. Di ba mangyayari ang nangyari sa Altis dati na sa huli diniscontinue ang 1.8 at ginawang 2.0 na rin ang top end variant?

Inalis ng Corolla Altis yung 1.8V.

Kaso ang masaklap mas malakas pa yung engine ng 2011 Elantra 1.8Li sa 2011 Corolla Altis 2.0V.

It's not about the engine displacement.

It's about the power.

But then the times are changing and the power of its competitors are starting to increase as well especially as many are slated to release their new models soon. 150hp may be impressive for a 1.8L but is the norm for a 2.0 which, if they will make it top of the line, will make it just land in the middle of the pack and not anywhere on top.

Hindi kasi Theta II eh. So nasa 155-170HP din siguro.

And the Cruze is doing good even without 2.0Li. Petrol engine.

May 2.0L engine pala talaga ready para sa bagong Elantra? Hindi nalang sila nagshare ng 166ps engine ng Tucson?

Hi guys! I'm just new here! :D
My dad is going to buy a new car maybe this March. And he asked me to look for the best car that suits him. He likes spacious compact car, a head-turner, very new(because he don't want the car to be outphased agad). I found out the best choice and it's the Hyundai Elantra. I also considered Cruze(but a lot of people are saying that the maintenance of this car is so expensive), Fiesta(Too small), Honda City(pretty nice) and Altis(Which obviously came out of the question when I saw the 2010 model. I'ts MAD UGLY and looks like a car which came out 10years ago.). So All in all the Elantra caught my eye. But the problem is that it's not yet released here. And I think my dad's plan to buy a car this March is fixed. And if he can't wait for the Hyundai Elantra he'll just go to the Honda City or Cevy Cruze . BUT I REALLY WANT THE ELANTRA! IT'S PERFECT! (And I also hope it's affordable). I hope Hyundai will release the new Elantra by this March. Pleeeeaaaaassssseee...coz I think it's the best in it's class. :D

For space consideration I'm sure cruze win hands down among the choices above but it's only 1.8L petrol engine. Sabihin mo sa Dad mo since he wants a new model better wait for elantra, at least all new design hindi kaagad luluma katulad ng iba sa list mo na released by at least a year ago. Pakita mo sa kanya ang pics and features ng elantra na available sa web baka sakali magbago ang isip.

sabi ng source ko malamang daw sa april ang labas nito, ang price daw is 800k+ for the low end at 1m-1.1m daw ang top of the line, hindi lang nasabi kung anong engine nito.

Sana nga. He's working at Singapore kasi. Pero sa March uwi na sya dito para dito na cya magwowork. Sa Alabang yung office nya so he needs a car kaagad(we leave in batangas btw). And kapag yung car namin dito(Toyota Fortuner) ginamit nya eh di kami naman wala gagamiting car.

Sana talaga sa March nalang ilaunch yung Elantra
