corret, somehow it's like a "limiter" para maka tipid

correct as well. mas maganda talaga ang response pag naka off ang ECON.

more on topic, from my case, almost zero difference sa fuel consumption ang ECON on or off primarily because i keep my foot as light as possible (takbong chubby lang). did several experiments on this, full tank method, at the end of the day, halos walang difference sa fuel savings BUT a very noticeable performance hit if naka on ang ECON. since then, ECON off ako palagi.

    - heavy city traffic - 8.5km/l average (Cebu city traffic ito, to some extent traffic can be worse here than EDSA kasi 1 or 2 lanes lang ang mga kalye - lucky if you can do 15km/hr on a rush hour stop and go traffic)
    - light to moderate - around 10km/l average
    - more recently, daily commute ng wife ko highway driving around 70kms round trip - 15km/l average (this could be higher i guess if we don't use the car on weekends - ma traffic din pag sabado, parang lunes lang).

I agree that driving habit plays a major role sa FC. Pero what i noticed is the ECON helps not when the vehicle is running, per pag nasa standstill sila. Yung apak, gumagalaw vehicle eh. Pero pag standstill traffic tapos idling, this is, i think, where ECON contributes the most sa FC.

i think so too, since ang a/c naman ang nililimit nya... pansin mo parang bigla nalang iinit sa loob... :D

Im a new honda owner. Bought a used Civic 2004 VTI-S with only 68k mileage. I drive from home to work/work to home daily which is 40 KM (San mateo, Rizal to Commonwealth/Commonwealth to San mateo, Rizal).

Matipid or normal na ba yung 250 pesos daily na balikan with that kind of travel? Assuming gas is at 55 per liter, i consume 4.5L per 40 KM. So around 8.8km/L?

Also, tried to drive from San mateo to Tagaytay then Tagaytay -> MCU Caloocan -> San Mateo inabot ako ng 1k pesos for the gas.

I think your average speed during the trip will also matter.

if for your daily commute, 8.8km/L ka pero average speed is 20km/hr, medyo malakas siya. Hehe.

As a comparison, my Civic averages about 5.5-6km/L if average speed is 10-11km/hr during morning and evening rush hours. But on evening city drives, average ko usually 25-30km/hr, nakaka 13km/L ako. Consistent with jut's plot on the FC of the Civic FC

Parang same lang for me, pero bihira kasi ako pure city, madalas 50-50 mix city-hiway.

    Sirs,

I’m planning to buy Honda Civic 1.8e or the RS. Pero in terms of gas consumption sa city driving, alin mas matipid?

90 percent of the time, city driving lang talaga. May mga nabasa kasi ako mas matipid yung RS 1.5 turbo sa 1.8e. But city driving ba mas matipid talaga ang RS?

City driving for me is included the moderate to heavy traffic.

    Salamat!
