Looking closer at the city driving FC alone:

    - Every 1 kph increase during heavy traffic (under 15 kph) has a very sharp improvement in FC
    - In moderate traffic (16-20 kph), FC is roughly the same
    - Steep linear increase again in FC as avg speed increases in light traffic

Data was from 66 full tanks from a total of over 24,000 km travelled.

Thanks for posting the graph. It seems that the FC on my 2001 civic still applies until today despite the advancement of technology. Notices that FC is best at approximately 70km/h but foes down when reaching 80.
At 1000rpm on a 5th gear, I get a speed of 40km/h. reving up to 1500rpm yields to 60km/h. By computation , a 500rpm increase will result to additional 20km/h.
However, adding another 500rpm (2000rpm) at 5th gear will not result to 80km/h but around 77km/h. Reving to 2500rpm gives 90km/h and will require 3100rpm to get 100km/h.
I think that 70km/h driving is the most efficient speed on a steady driving (with foot on pedal), problem is I can't let that happen when your only minutes away from rush hour.

pero syempre that's nothing compared to the consumption of the other cars here hehe

Not bad for a 2.0L NA car in city driving routes. Kunting ingat sa gas pedal, kaya yan mga 7 km/L.

Depends on the route. No matter what car I use, I can't break 6 km/L if I travel from Taft to our house during rush hour. Average is 5 km/L with the Mazda 3 and CRV, 5.8 km/L with the Civic. Even my old 1.3 Vios before got 6.3 km/L with that route. Average speed is 10-11 kph, purely stop and go traffic.

Kung ganyan route mo everyday, expect 5-6 km/L or even worse if you have a V6 or V8.

5 km/L na nga with a 2.0 (I've even had 4.7 km/L when it was really bad). Of course it'll be much worse with a V6.

I doubt there will be a significant difference.

Based on Jut703’s observations, fuel consumption of Civics with the R18 engine would be around 8-9 km/L city driving and 15 km/L highway. BGC, Makati CBD, and Ortigas traffic might be worse.

I also had the FB Civic (2011-2015). Mine was a 2012 Civic 1.8 EXi. Halos same FC lang as the newer FC Civic 1.8E even if the newer one has a CVT while the older one has a 5AT.

Both get around 7-8 km/L in city driving. 15+ km/L in highway driving.

Anyone here who drives a City VX 2019? What's the average FC? Mine will be released this December. At first, I was seeing great reviews about City's fuel economy (that's why I chose it in the first place), but recently started seeing some people complain about its excessive FC, around 6-7 Km/L lang daw. I've been reading up about cars here in this forum and some comments about Honda City were either from 3-5y ago or unsatisfied users. How about its performance and fuel economy now? TIA.

Hi all! I have a Civic FD 2009 1.8S A/T and the fuel consumption is 7.24km/L city driving mostly and moderate traffic. Very light on the pedal, rarely reaches 2.5k rpm. I do my best to maintain only up to 2000rpm torque. Is this normal po ba? 84,400+ km mileage na po. stock lahat.

Yes that's about normal if you're in moderately heavy city traffic.

I get about 8 km/L in the same conditions with my 2017 Civic which has the newer CVT and retuned EarthDreams engine. The '09 Civic is known to be thirstier so 7.24 km/L isn't so bad.

I'm from Cebu City sir. I've been a lurker here since i got my first car last September. So I read and learned a lot of things here already. I computed it using the full tank method.
Average speed is from 30-40km/h lang ako. Kung walang masyadong sasakyan lalo na pag uwi ko sa midnight during weekends, i get to 60km/h pero yun lang, seldom lang ako aabot ng 70km/h kasi maraming loko-lokong drivers dito sa Cebu pag gabi lalo na yung mga motorcycles at di pa ako ganun ka confident mag drive.

Thanks for the reply sir! Yes I also read other people's say about their 2006-2011 civic models, and some would get to 5km/L or mostly nasa 6-8km/L yung mga FC nila. But, are there any other ways na mag improve yung FC nya bukod sa ways of driving like installing iridium spark plugs or whatsoever na pwedeng iinstall? Newbie/Noobie palang po kasi.
