I suggest bring a honest to goodness mechanic.

Risky masyado bumili ng 2nd hand, to add up ifinancing mo pa pala yan?

Mas mataas interest ng pre-owned vehicle thru financing.

    I have a Civic 2002 LXi and I consume 12.5 ~ 12.8 km/L.

This includes driving from Pampanga to Alabang on Monday, then Makati~Alabang~Makati on weekdays and back to Pampanga on Friday.

I record the fuel in L when gassing up and restart the odometer. I've been doing this for 6 months now.

di ako civic user pero with regards with fuel saver devices, waste of money lang yan, yung pambibili mo ng fuel saver...pambili mo na lang ng gas.

in this day and age, if such a thing did indeed exist and worked reliably, it would already be incorporated in them manufactured cars..

I attribute the good fuel economy to the following reasons:

    1. Genuine Honda Engine Oil, 5w/30 mineral, Php1085 only including oil filter change sa casa. Eto lang ata mura sa casa.

    2. Tire pressure, 36 psi front, 34 psi rear. Don't be scared, that's not even close to being high.

    3. Correct spark plugs recommended by the Honda Service Manual. Mine are NGK ZFR4F-11. I can't find these anywhere locally so I had to buy at E-bay. Sulit naman considering the benefits.

    4. "Undercharged" A/C system. There is a recommended range for the proper charge or weight of refrigerant for our vehicle. Always go with the minimum. R134A pressure goes up with the ambient temperature. Alam natin kung gaano kainit sa Pinas. Traffic pa palagi. Pag nasa max recommend pressure levels ka tapos sobrang init, tataas lalo pressure within the A/C lines. Also make sure they read the pressure when the engine speed is at 1500 rpm.

I'm planning to buy a used Civic FD 2009 M/T but I'm also having a hard thoughts of buying a new Mirage GLX Hatchback CVT instead. Since cheaper ang used civic I can probably use the extra cash for its future repairs. But the mirage GLX is tempting since its a brand new and worry free car for atleast 3 yrs. I can't make up my mind. If id be spending a little with FD then ill probably go with FD. Can you shed us some light po? And is a 66k mileage on a 6 yr old civic still worth the 500k budget? I was thinking that if I'm getting an M/T car might as well go for a used Civic. But if I'm buying a brand new, then I'll get the mirage CVT. Saan ba mas makakatipid in the long run?

    I have a 2004 Jazz 1.3l CVT.

    City driving 11kmpl.

Long drive normally hits 17kmpl. I once hit Manila Cabanatuan Manila 21kmpl.

Method: odometer reading between 2 fulltanks vs 2nd fulltank pump volume reading.

Normal city route: Guadalupe - Sandiganbayan - Guadalupe.

I have a feeling your odometer reading is incorrect due to the change in wheel size.

    Hi tsikoteers,

    Php 500 around 11.5 liters unleaded = 70-80km

I bought it second hand by the way.

    Same route din pabalik.

Also, kapag nag high octane ba ako mas tataas FC ko?
    Thanks

    HONDA Mobilio

I droved 103km. FC is 6.2km/l using manual computation matic lang ang ginawa ko hindi sagad and hindi same gas station. suprisingly the digital FC meter reading is 6.1km/l almost the same.

Driving condition. Sometimes I leave the car idling with aircon on because ang hirap mag sakay ng infant sa car seat heheh and i got stuck sa traffic sa manila nung may 30 sobrang baha. I drive relatively short distance around 2-5km per ride. Dual Ac ako lagi
