Hi mga sirs. I have 2009 Honda Jazz 1.3 AT VTEC, yung km/l niya is 8.9 - 9.1 city driving. Pero 1 weekend umuwi ako province, hindi pa din siya nagbago, ganon pa din. Okay lang po ba yun?

Don't expect too much in fuel efficiency with the 2009-2012 Jazz/City 1.3L AT. The 1.5L AT model is more fuel efficient. Our 2009 Jazz 1.3L AT averages around 8-9 km/L city driving. I am not a fan of it when used in the highway as it takes a bit of effort to bring it up past triple digit speeds. I think in pure highway runs we get around 12-13 km/L compared to the 1.5L model which can do 15 km/L.

I see sir. pero 8-9 km/L is okay na ba for city driving compared to other 1.3 and 1.5 cars (considering na hindi Jazz)?

Actually oo, hirap sa speed, lalo na pag oovertake.

    Salamat.

For all the utility and space offered by the 2009 Jazz 1.3L, I guess such a fuel consumption is good enough. Though the 1.5L model is much better as it offers better performance and better fuel efficiency.

Kelangan pigain mo yung 1.3L engine just to get it going faster. I was doing 3000 rpm when averaging 100 kmh on the highway. Cruising at 120 km/L, my tachometer was already between 3500 and 4000 rpm. Even worse if the car is hauling 4 people on board.

OMG! Sobrang lakas takaw naman nyan. Manual ba yan or baka Nabilad sa araw maghapon? My 2012 CRV 4WD 5 speed A/T consumes 10-12km/l on V-power nitro fuel.

This is normal and more realistic fuel consumption ...

12 km / liter on a Honda CR-V with 2.4 liter engine? ... Maybe it's more like 12 liters / 100 km ... but even that is too good unless it's pure highway ...

Care to share your route and how exactly you computed for your FC?

The computation is based on the actual distance traveled / actual fuel consumed.
Trip Km / actual # of liters it take to fill up the tank completely = km/l

Fuel Emission (Fuel Evaporating) is the biggest factor that increases your fuel consumption. Gasoline initial boiling point is 35°C / 95°F at atmospheric pressure
and 39 °C / 99 °F inside the fuel tank. Fuel vapors generated from the gasoline cooled fuel pump is burned at the Catalytic Converter without producing power.
