Short distance lang ba byahe mo, sir? Usually malakas sa gas yung short trips. Kung hindi, check nyo po air filter nyo at throttle body kung marumi. Palitan yung air filter tapos palinisan yung throttle body. Pagkatapos, paki-reset yung idle ng makina (idle learn). Disconnect the battery, then reconnect after mga 30 minutes, tapos let the engine idle for 2-3 automatic cycles ng radiator fan until mag stabilize yung idle rpm (700-800) speed without aircon load.

mga 12km heavy traffic byahe ko daily. paano po ba ireset yun idle (idle learn)?
nga pala, naka rekta yun fan ko.
RPM ko aircon on 900, off parang same lang.

Ma reset yung idle by disconnecting the battery terminals. Reconnect them after 15-30 minutes, then switch on the engine and letting it run for a few minutes, allowing the engine to reach optimal temperature and stabilizing its idle rpm speed.

Hayaan mo lang muna yung ECU to adjust the engine's idle rpm speed. Patay yung aircon dapat while letting the engine relearn its idle rpm speed. Pero make sure malinis intakes, air filter, at throttle body ng makina before resetting the idle.

Kung marumi air filter mo, palitan mo muna bago mo reset yung idle. Baka kasi malaki improvement sa fuel efficiency. If you have a trusted mechanic, please have your car's throttle body checked if it's clean or not. Please have it cleaned if it is dirty. Remember, a dirty intake will cause the engine to consume more gas.

Medyo malakas nga consumption, worse than my old 6th gen Accord 2.3L AT (5-6km/L on city, 9-10 km/L on highway). Not sure how efficient is the Honda D16 VTEC with its 4AT tranny but I think 8km/L on city and 12 km/L on highway is expected of it as the Civic EK body is light.

Check your MAF sensor if your FC is high but your intakes and air filter is clean. A broken sensor causes FC to surge higher than normal. Another cause might be a failing/slipping transmission. Honda automatic transmissions at the turn of the century were not that reliable. A failing/slipping tranny causes the engine to go gear hunting with rpms going up and down thus consuming more fuel.

Ok naman sir shifting ng transmission. Paano ba malalaman kung sira yun MAF sensor?

Check first if the MAF sensor is clogged or dirty. You can use a non-contact spray cleaner (like carburetor cleaner spray) into the MAF sensor tip within the intake. I am not sure the exact location of the MAF sensor for the D16 but there are self-help videos in Youtube to guide you along. A scanner might help detect the error related to the MAF sensor but it's hard to detect or inspect physically a broken or defective MAF sensor.

I went to a Honda dealership and inquired about the HRV. Sabi ng sales rep naka CVT na ang engine ng HRV compared to the Civic na wala pa kaya mas matipid ang HRV. Totoo ba to or sales talk lang?

i know this have been ask many times in this thread but kinda lost with all the post and kinda new here and into cars (Honda Cars)

anyways my question is i recently bought a Honda CRV Gen 1 Automatic the previous owner claims that the CRV gen 1 i bought gas consumption is 8/9 city Driving
and on express 10/12 and in heavy traffic 6/8 is this true? for a well maintained CRV gen 1? btw the car is really well maintained and fresh as FCK and check by Honda casa QAVE

From experience, 5-7 km/L in city driving, 10 km/L on the highway with pretty brisk driving (120-160 kph on NLEX). 2000 CR-V AT.
