Yep I was doing a steady 80kmh siguro nun lumayo pa sya sa distance. Now it got me thinking baka nga EL 1.8 pa yun kasi i only got a glance at the mags e medyo similar pala ang EL and RS. So the RS would be quicker still if so. 😊

My wife's cousin who just joined Honda Pampanga's sales team took out the Civic RS Turbo for a spirited test run at SCTEX. The car maxxed out at 207 kmh. He said it could not go much faster. The tachometer hit the redline and went back down.

He says it is quick and fast though not in the same level as the Accord 3.5L V6. The Accord V6 is much smoother off the line and accelerates faster.

It needs a higher boost pressure. Still cant match the v6' almost 300hp though. I think both are speed limited to 208kph.

I think the Accord V6 can do faster than that. A neighbor who owns an 8th gen Accord 2.4L got his car to its limits at Skyway around 220kmh on the speedometer unless the speedometer was off by 5% which would put it around 208-210kmh.

Final nakuha ko discount is P25K for the Civic 1.8 E SRP. Then sa in-house Insurance less P7,700 so P33,800 na lang. Free 3 years LTO din.

Bakit ka bibigay ng tip eh malaki commission nya sa pagbili mo? An easy 3% to 5% commission he can get out of the sale.

It's more like 5,000-20,000 depending on the type of vehicle ... they get a commission also from insurance and percentage from financing ...

He said it was still stable (swabe daw). It did not feel as if going fast. I guess such a sensation may have to do with the CVT tranny. My Forester XT also behaves the same under high speeds, very different with how DCT behaves at high speeds.

CarguidePH has a new article posted regarding the cost of owning the new Civic RS. It listed there that the Civic RS can be lubed using only semi-synthetic oils for a 6-month or 10K KM period, and the 1.5L turbo engine is rated for 91RON fuel. Ulysses Ang said that he got the details from Honda Cars Philippines.

How Much Does It Cost to Run the 217 Honda Civic RS Turbo? | ************ - Philippine Car News, Car Reviews, Car Features, Car Buyer's Guide and Car Prices.

To the owners of the new Civic RS, what kind of oil was your casa suggesting? Have they suggested a specific fuel type for the turbo engine? If CarguidePH got the details from Honda, then there is no need to spend for fully synthetic oil and high octane fuel for the Civic RS.

Nag-avail pa ba kayo ng rust proofing worth P4,950? Kelangan ba talaga yun?

Not necessary ... majority of vehicles come from factory with rustproofing already since the 90s ...

I'm amazed the RS turbo is still stable at 207 kph. JDM like compact cars were usually designed for fuel efficient, so lighter car, unstable on high speed unlike German's cars were designed for Autobahn.

I guess the new chassis of the Civic may have helped a lot in its stability at such speeds. The new chassis looks longer and wider than the FD and FB. Its size is more like the 6th gen Accord already.

The new compacts are all bigger than its predecessor so the added weight adds to its stability. I guess the Focus Ecoboost and Mazda3 2.0R are also capable of speeds like that achieved by the Civic RS. The Fiesta Ecoboost, despite its size, is surprisingly stable even at 180 kmh.
