Nope, those are not signal lights. I believe they're side marker lights required by law in the US. Signal lights remain inside the HLs.

Based on how local pricing goes for TOTL compacts, it will be within 1.2M. If HondaPH is way above its head, they may even ask for more.

Looks like a beauty. And it will have a turbo engine. 1.5 turbo if im not mistaken. That torque and power will be sweet. Going back to their performance roots.

Based on articles, the new 1.5L turbo engine will offer a 30hp power output increase over its old 1.8L NA engine. We are looking at around 170+ hp. It's a probability that the engine will be shared with the base Accord and maybe the CRV later on. Much like how Ford was successful with its 1.5L Ecoboost engine on the Fusion midsize sedan and the same engine was placed in the new Ford Focus.

The Ford 1.5L Ecoboost is rated at 180hp at 6000rpm and 240Nm starting at 1600rpm. The torque figure does not include overboost at 5000rpm (usually additional 15-20% torque). The 1.0L Ecoboost has a torque rating of 200Nm at overboost (15 seconds) when it crosses 5000rpm, compared to its usual torque rating of 170Nm from 1500-4500rpm.

174hp (as per Car and Driver) from a small turbo engine is still pretty decent. If properly mated to its CVT tranny, it will surely be one fun to drive car. It will be like the Honda K24 (Accord 2.4L) engine but with torque pull felt at lower rpms (below 2000).

And a much lighter and smaller engine too which adds to the dynamics, performance and handling of the car.

The Civic will be priced higher than the Jazz so it won't be competing with the sales of the Jazz. Honda needs to be able to compete by offering a HB version of its compact car (Civic), much like how Mazda and Ford have HB versions of the Mazda3 and Focus.

Always dreamed of owning a Mazda 3. When I saw this car, had to think twice.

    Worth the wait?

More news and pics about the all-new Civic. Is that a turbo spool indicator on the instrument cluster?

Very nice. I hope Nissan also pitches in their Sylphy (Sentra B17) 1.6 Turbo (200hp and 225hp versions). All that power from a 1.6L. I'm guessing this 1.5Turbo from Honda also makes at least much but the power will probably come from the higher revs.

The Pilot is categorized as a medium size SUV but more in competition with the Ford Explorer and Mazda CX9. Honda has not been a big player in ladder-frame vehicles so it will not be able to compete with Toyota/Mitsubishi/Ford/Isuzu. Honda has pickup model available in the US, the Honda Ridgeline.

The turbo 1.5 engine is drool worthy. This car will be a segment leader. I read about it in autoblog and carscoop. Their impressions of it are it will be top dog in its class.
