Syempre pag masyado maayos, matagal masira, matagal bago maka kuha ng "this is a project of Mayor XYZ" + kickbacks of course.

All part of the 'painful process.' Lee Kuan Yew fought hard against the communists and won. He's not perfect. Tons of citizens got hurt, gagged or were murdered. When Singapore emerged as an economic powerhouse, political noise was pushed to a corner. No one cared about politics anymore

On the other side of the world, Communist Fidel Castro, with an army of 15 (?) people fought a bloody revolution against the democrats (pro Americans) and won. Many say Cubans, were suppressed for 50 years, but have the best basic human services available (healthcare and education).

Agree, not in my lifetime (I'm a old man already ). But I think we are making tiny strides. Perhaps for our children's children? I hope...

I don't agree with all of BF's programs mind you. Kulang siya sa public interaction/consultation. At isa pa, bakit gustong gusto nya ang Baby blue at PINK???!!

why cant we be like Singapore?

    hahahahaha

Not gonna happen in a million years...

    Pinoy pa...

kung ano ang naisip, translated agad into action

Most pinoys dont have a filter between brain and body

    Pag naiihi... iihi kung saan

    Pag naubo... dudura kung saan

    Pag may tsiks... sipol... sitsit

    Pag nabadtrip... mura

    Pag natrapik... counterflow

    Singapore is all about discipline.

Discipline is all about self-restraint --- controlling oneself from doing what comes natural. Controlling the animal inside.

    Pinoy discipline? self restraint?

    hahahahaha

Ah, yeah! Especially that place in front of Lucky Plaza.

And not only at Orchard Rd. you go to Bras Basah, Bugis, Geylang, Sims Ave., Marine Parade etc. so many jaywalkers and they are not just Pinay DH and expats. I used to have an office at Shenton Way that's in the Singapore CBD area and guess what professionals in suits and ties do jaywalk, so hindi lang Pinay DH at Pinoy IT jologs ang gumagawa nun. I have witnessed more tragic road accidents there than here and some are just too grisly to describe.

So why can't we be like Singapore? Heck, Marcos was Lee Kwan Yews's Mentor, FYI.

nagtetext, naglalaro ng psp or nagtutu-
lugtulugan. eksena na di ko nakita sa
    pinas.

kulang lang talaga tayo sa matinong
liderato. but i would like to think na
may pag-asa pa rin tayo as a country.
    mas madaling baguhin ang liderato
    kaysa kultura.

mas maganda sigurong tanong eh bakit
tayo naiiwan na ng halos lahat ng
    asean.

Di ba ganyan ginawa ni Marcos dati? He imposed discipline kaso democratic country daw tayo so kaya nagkaroon ng revolution. Kwento-kwento lang ng tatay at kapatid ko yung mga alam ko tungkol sa reign ni Marcos, who according to them is still the best president this country has ever had.
