I still think it's odd; IMO, it still makes sense to make the shoulder visible by using the hazards. When the vehicle in front suddenly flashes a turn signal in thick fog, how do you know if its just pulling over? Baka sundan mo pa rin yun thinking that you're still on the road, yun pala lumiko na siya, na-wrong turn ka pa.

People get disoriented in thick fog and make unwise decisions.

naalala ko kapag pumapasok kami sa mga base ng mga kano noong araw at natiyempong umaambon, pinabuksan na ng guard yung headlights.

Indeed they do. Thing is, how do we minimize those unwise decisions?

kasi dito sa pinas daming gumagamit ng emergency lane kahit di naman emergency. kaya yun naka park sa shoulder nag hahazzard para kita na may naka stop na vehicle. IMO, hazzard light are more use to catch other drivers attention ( who wouldn't look at flashing lights...hehehe) that something is amidst hence the use of it.

ang fog lights para sa fog.

but, here its a common mistake na ang fog lights ay misken for driving light which are both aux. lights.....makikita mo sa groves ng lens or reflector ung use ng aux lamp..iba ang beam pattern ng fog sa driving,ha...fogs are mostly yellow and wide ang light pattern, will not glare the incoming traffic kasi pababa ang buga nyan, almost like your low beam... ang nakakaglare ay ung driving lights..straight beam pattern, just like your high beam...so pag mataas na sasakyan vs car, silaw agad...

i prefer ung 2-in-1, may fogs and driving...

park lights during tolerable rain... dim sometimes bright lights on a heavy downpour... medyo lumalabo kase mata ko kapag sobrang blurry na ang daan so i use my brights... sorry kung irritating yung ganon to some...

...but what i hate are those who use their hazard lights... mas lalong nakakaduleng

I'm also gulity of using hazzard lights pero pag heavy downpour as in very low low visibility. Nasa EDSA ako nun gabi tapos biglang downpour.

Maybe this is needed for extreme conditions only.

I usually turn on my headlights when it rains basta visible pa, i use the hazzards lights na pag sobrang down pour. There was a time naabutan kami ng sobrang lakas ng ulan (and dilim) sa NLEX. Sa lakas ng ulan plus splash ng cars, medyo malabo ang visiblity, I use the hazards as long as wag kang magoovertake, nakakabigla yun. For me using the hazards during super heavy downpour helps. Just me

I'm glad that tsikoteers use their lights during rain or downpours. I wonder why others on the road don't? Is the misconception of 'sayang kuryente' or 'mapupundi lang ang bumbilya ko' prevailing here?

Another thing I noticed also is why other motorists use their high beam (day or night) during downpours. For me, it's really useless to use high beam during downpours since light reflects back to the driver, causing less visibility much like in the fog. High beams also blind oncoming vehicles and vehicles in front.

Actually, I notice a big number of motorists in SLEX turn on their hazards during downpours . More confusing for me especially when they need to switch lanes.

sir the mere use of you tailights is enough for the car behind you to see your car. even if your car is black, they will still see you. hazards are used for emergency purposes only.

Park Lights pagmakulimlim at umaambon and especially highspeed(highway zone)..

Foglights pag-usuall rainfall and especially highspeed(highway zone)..

PL, FL and Headlight - heavy rainfall and especially highspeed(highway zone)..

*mahirap na pag meron hindi nag-linis ng side mirror and may naka double to triple layered tint..*

This is the MIGHTY PHILIPPINES, what can you expect? Anything goes. What the driver feels good is always good. Discipline is just an option. I'm happy that majority of Tsikoteers are on the disciplined side.

The headlights on my truck come on when I start the engine, and my wife's car comes on when you take it out of Park
