Ang babaw naman talaga nila.
I admit, I for one would've wanted to keep the plate frames on but if LTO deems it illegal, no big deal.... Tanggalin ko kagad.

July 3rd, 2014 02:37 PM #134i have a plate cover installed from day one(clear)
reasons:
not for style but for theft protection(former vehicles plate already stolen)
installation of special nut or screw can protect the plate from being stolen but not from being damged.
this admin order is just, since a lot who use such covers abuse it.... i just hope it would be applied to all equally.
the law may be harsh but it is the law, owning a property is a right, in this case a vehicle but using it in a public roads is a privilege since it the use may affect the general public.
want to use your vehicle in anyway you want, PAGAWA KA NG SARILI MONG KALSADA SARILI MONG EDSA SARILI SKYWAY.

July 3rd, 2014 02:39 PM #135I find it funny that people raise such an uproar for something that, from what I understand, is prohibited naman talaga(plate acc. etc..). Tinaasan lang fines ngayon kaya mas may "incentive" manghuli.
And those same people loudly wonder why the Philippines is going nowhere.
Frankly, I think there should be nothing allowed there but the plate.
The issue we should raise is that the "new" plates we will get should be well-made and keep its visibility/legibility for a minimum of 10yrs(?).

July 3rd, 2014 02:43 PM #136Kaya pala yesterday in kalayaan Makati, an enforcer was about to flag me down, and I saw on the side streets, many cars got flagged down
But enforcer decided to back down coz I was driving a big American SUV
I thought it was the diesel check again, and enforcer realized that my car is not diesel. One thing I noticed after though , the cars flagged done were regular non- diesel sedans & SUvs
Anyway, it was a quick run until I read this thread. I'll just remove n lng the front covers for the time being until they sort it out which announcement is true, new plates only or all plates ?

July 3rd, 2014 02:54 PM #138Btw, I just removed the front clear cover, and I didn't remove the back frame.
MahirAp I-remove ang backframe, someone will get hurt if for example, parked in Megamall or any other multilevel parking lots.
Kawawa yun mga bata na Hindi makit a sa madalas na edges lalo na ngaun mga malls nagtitipid sa lighting to cut costs, mA-cut sila
Not to mention people who are carrying / dragging big bags from parking to the mall, and most of all slow moving fat people who are not very mindful of their surroundings and galit pa pag nagsabihan ng ganito.
