Anyway this will still end up in epic fail because hindi naman talaga private vehicles ang cause ng traffic but the Buses. even buses with legal franchises not just colorum.

overcrowded na bilang ng bus if you ask me, andaming non aircon bus na laging bakante pag rush hour.

BTW in the US, a way to punish undisciplined drivers, your insurance premium will be higher. Kung may cooperation lang government and insurance providers, they will penalize Bus companies that employ erring drivers by computing the mean violation ratio per bus company and correlating that with their insurance premiums.

Pag mataas ang violation profile ng bus, not only will they pay higher premiums to insure their buses yearly. The govt should also penalize them with Road Hazard Tax.

If they break the threshold they will pay this RHT in there license renewal for both bus drivers and franchise owners.

Also the Government should use the one strike policy. Pag nagkaron ng grabeng loss of life ang bus company due to gross negilence bawiin agad ang prangkisa.

pag naimplement ito sigurado gulo 'to...

i believe may previous experiment where they implemented the number coding scheme for PUVs only and removed it for private vehicles for two weeks. tapos baliktad naman. results showed na less traffic sa edsa pag walang number coding ang private vehicles at meron ang PUVs than the other way around.

lugi ang plate ending in 2,3,6,7,0

    1 Mon, Wed, Fri
2 Tue Thur Sat + Mon (Coding)
3 Mon Wed Fri + Tue (Coding)
    4 Tue Thur Sat
    5 Mon Wed Fri
6 Tue Thur Sat +Wed (Coding)
7 Mon, Wed, Fri +Thurs (Coding)
    8 Tue Thur Sat
    9 Mon, Wed, Fri
0 Tue Thur Sat + Fri (Coding)

As usual the traffic planners gave way to the bus company's wishes. The solution is plain and simple: What causes the daily traffic congestion along Edsa - - - PUBs, therefore crack the whip on these drivers and operators. Just looking at the amount of smoke these buses spew into the air, you can easily revoke their registrations and franchises - - - then you effectively wipe out half of these along Edsa, same with the jeepneys, traffic is solved.

Only question here is "redtape" in the bureaucracy ?

this is a very stupid and downright mindless policy. obviously, the ones involved are so stupid to realize that there are more private motorists now who are using the sidestreets and other alternative to edsa... and yet there is still the edsa traffic problem. tama ang sabi ng mga tsikoters, the PUVs, lalo na ang mga bus, ang problema dito. kala ko ba eh dun tayo sa matuwid na daan para umunlad? asan na ba ang mga lintek na nanloko ng mga mahihirap at kulang sa talinong mga masa na bumoto sa kanila? pansinin naman sana nila tong kalokohan na to at dagliang ipahinto ang planong implementasyon. tsk tsk

Wala kasing nape-phase out kaya napupuno kalsada.

This is the worst idea ever.

My ending number would cause me to only be able to use EDSA 1 day out of the weekdays?

On top of that I'm not familiar with the roads here and I rely heavily on EDSA to get around without getting lost and stuck in more traffic jams with roads I am not familiar with.

Option is to buy a 2nd car but I don't have 2 garage slots in my condo parking!

As always the BUS operators always get the win win. Maybe those bus owners are putting money into the politicians pocket so they turn a blind eye to them and focus on us instead the private vehicles.

BTT: sana talaga eh di matuloy tong moronic odd-even scheme sa edsa on top of the coding scheme. ang daming mapeperwisyo nito. eventually, progress sa mga lugar na apektado eh mahihinto rin. inefficient transport system + no private cars on the road for workers= less business production = no progress = pilipinas down the drain.

This scheme simply isn't going to work.

Why don't they just make EDSA a toll road and get it over with... More money for the government. People can drive whenever they like. And there will be a reduction of vehicles on the road... or not. Who cares. That money will go to building more roads and subsidizing the MRT.
