MMDA should eliminate the jeepney franchise in C5 before it's too late. add 5 more years, and these jeepney drivers will act like they own the place.

eto lang ang secondary main highway sa Metro from North/South vice versa. treat this as EDSA na but without buses and jeepneys.

As long as walang alternative livelihood na maibibigay ang gobyerno sa mga jeepney drivers, medyo tatagal pa sila sa kanilang hanapbuhay. Yan ang dilemma ng mga traffic planners natin ngayon, they don't take into account the economic aspect.

I think the problem doesn't lie mainly with the PUJ's (or PUB's for that matter), kasi kahit alisin mo yan totally, magkaka-trapik pa rin. It's a combination of factors, i.e. lack of discipline, shoddy law enforcement and bad roads, among others. Also, palawigin na rin ng gobyerno yung mass transport system sa bansa, so there will be fewer vehicles on the road.

I agree...dapat after jollibee na u-turn slot ang i-open, and not the one near Shopwise.

tingin ko malabong mangyari to, especially since madaming pwedeng puntahan along that area... magrereklamo ang mga sumasakay ng puj's, pati na ang mga driver mismo.

an LRT along C5 would be nice or a railcar..

Lower cost of cars. We don't need the pesky jeeps anymore.

I prefer the U-turns than deadstop traffic anytime.

My main peeve on U-turn slots are those that force vehicles merging from the other side of the road to swerve, i.e. the one found at the exit of the university avenue.

Doesn't give drivers space to properly change lane, slowing down traffic, and is also a hazard.

Isa pa yung U turn slot para sa mga vehicles na pupunta ng ayala heights, malapit ata sa caltex. Talagang parang mga pedestrian na tumatawid ng commonwealth yung mga papasok don mula sa other side. Delikado talaga

other than these, I think U turn slots are better, especially on wide roads with fast traffic.

It might be a good idea to let a single company be given SOLE franchise for the C5 area. It could be a good "experiment" to control public transport

Sigh... back in 2003~2004 the drive from C5 to my office at The Fort used to be a very pleasant drive. Ever since Market Market got completed, jeepneys started coming in like flies on a dead carcass. Now, the roads within the Fort are starting to get congested just like Ortigas Center.

i think the system works on some areas especially along edsa.. na-lessen yung bottle neck traffic on every stop light.. pero meron pa ding konting traffic whenever you come across a major u-turn like in muņoz area from monumento going to congressional ave.. punta ka na lang sa may right most lane para makalusot ka agad.. but in some cases like you've mentioned in libis.. hindi nga yata uubra ang mga u-turn slots dyan or maybe they should improvise it to fit the traffic jam in libis..

Baka naman pwedeng lagyan ng jeepney kulungan pink fence in that area? Yung 2 lanes lang sila...

if for anything, bf's u-turn idea may not really original - i mean it may have been benchmarked with other countries.

in new jersey, they have a simliar "no left turn at intersections." instead of u-turn slots though, they have what they call "jug handles" - sort of service roads shaped literally like a jug handle several hundred feet before the intersection. to turn left, you have to "go" right and onto the jug handle, the end of which lands on the intersecting street so you go across the street you were initially on instead of turn left.

haaaay, hirap i-explain...NJ tsikoteers, tulong naman!

parang na gets ko. Para bang mapupunta ka sa road na perpendicular kung nasaan ka (jug handle) then turn left sa intersection. Tama ba?

exactly - though it would obviously be not practial in rp all the time cause we simloy don't have the luxury of space as na...
