OR
I think that is within their right as investors here in the country. Imagine that you invest millions of dollars in manufacturing, assembly & spare parts plants... then you would just be displaced by some backyard conversion shop.Originally Posted by uls

Another thing... the UK can take on Japan surplus since they both drive on the right since LHD conversion is another bloody thing to contend with. Granted that there are some good conversion shops there, but what about other 90% of ex-JDM vehicles out there? Heck, turboawd's 1000hp Skyline was shipped to Dubai for proper LHD conversion.
RHD vehicles in the USA? I don't think so... even Bill Gate's Porsche 959 required a special bill for him to legally drive it in the USA.Originally Posted by OTEP

pardon me sir, when you said "hindi lahat ng converted vehicles eh dangerous" and kung "maayos ang pag-convert", do you take it to mean that even the stock headlights and windshield wipers of RHD's are also converted for LHD purposes?
kasi po, kung hindi kasama mga ito then i beg to disagree with your point..
please correct me if i'm wrong pero ang pagkakaalam ko po kasi eh iyon lang steering mechanism ang usually ginagawa, and required for LTO registration, sa RHD to LHD conversion in the Philippines.
:peace:
RHD vehicles are not illegal in the U.S. You just have to go through red tape and meet the requirements. One of which is the vehicle must be older than 25 years old (15 in Canada). Otherwise, you'd have to go through the whole process of 'federalizing' the vehicle like what they do with the Skylines.huh? are you saying na sa US eh legal ang RHD?
ex-JDM GEN II Pajero TDi with USDM GEN I Vortec Conversion:
There are not off-road only toys. They have license tags and are used as daily drivers. The owner of the ex-JDM Pajero traded in his Mitsubishi Lancer for it.

Need an Ambulance? We sell Zic Brand Oils and Lubricants. Please PM me.
If that's the case, how about ung mga sariling assembled na sasakyan?
may wiper ba mga yan?
tama ba ang pagsalpak nila ng headlights?
how about ung surplus na steering assembly na gamit nila?
So malamang wala nanaman yan.
Kapatid, like what I said: depende.
What I'm saying is this: it is the manner how man designs tools, manufactures tools and eventually use tools that make the tool dangerous.
Anyway, OT na ako.![]()
And since almost all men are stupid might as well take away his dangerous toys.
Edit sucks when good drivers are in the minority.
Edit2 efficient public transport for all.
cases na tumaob na delica starwagon 4wd or hilux/lc70 prado.. natanong ba why tumaob? baka hinahataw ung sasakyan, then clip-turn! mga sanay sa kotse, ngayon palang nakpagdrive ng 4wds na matataas...now tumaob, sisisihin ang sasakyan.
and aparently, 99% masmabilis at masmaganda manakbo ang properly converted and maintained JDM kaysa sa local counterpart nito!
kung pinagbabawal ang 2nd hand imports dapat, ipagbawal na LAHAT ng JEEP, BUS, AT ASSEMBLED NA SASAKYAN as they also "threats to safety".
On the side of automotive manufacturers, yes - karapatan nila na i-protect ang investments nila and when this law is implemented, they sales may go up. Whay did I use the word "may"? Kasi walang namang assurance na tataas ang vehicle sales nila eh when this law is passed. Admit it: mas maraming may may-ari ng 2nd hand vehicles compared sa brand new. Bakit? Kase mas maraming hinde (pa) kayang bumili ng brand new. I said "pa" kase hinde naman natin alam ang magiging financial future nila. Kasi, in my personal opinion, kung ang lahat ng motorista na may 2nd hand/converted vehicles at kung ang lahat ng taong gustong magka sasakyan eh kayang bimile ng bago abay puro cars less than three years old ang makikita natin sa roads ngayon.
It's like this. Correct me if I'm wrong but a lot (take note: a lot, hinde ko sinasabing lahat) of the people who buy converted SUVs or vans are consumers who are the the middle income and upper-middle income bracket. Most of them don't have enough resources to buy the SUV or van that they like. Bakit? Kase kulang budget nila. So what do they do? They get converted SUVs or vans. Now, with this argument comes the question?
So, what does the person do? Hinde na sya bibili. Kung minsan, naka-ipon nga pero matagal naman ang inabot, say ten years, aba'y baka by that time eh yung mabibili lang ng naipon nya dilapitated or very old vehicle na lang.
Ako, I earn good pero I don't have the capacity to buy a new vehicle - atsaka ang tingen ko sa vehicle eh liability, hinde asset. So what am I doing with a motor vehicle? It's, unfortunately, a necessary liability in these times for me - and for a lot of us. My vehicle doesn't earn me money.
