mga sir good day! ask ko lang kung how much ba pag ipapa FULL TANK naten ang FIESTA sport?![]()
How much? Basta the whole tank is 43 liters, so you do the math kasi laging iba iba ang gas prices...
Meron trip meter ang Trend. Wala syang mileage computer. Just press the button located at the lower right of the tachometer. It switches between odometer (total KM since the car came from the factory) and trip meter (total KM since you last reset it using a long press). I reset mine every time the yellow "fuel low" light appears.
Mine is a 1.4 Trend sedan
First tank calculation using "Full tank to full tank" method.
Km travelled - 506km
Litres added - 36.36L
506 divided by 36.36 = 13.92km/L
Trip computer says 7.1 km/l (which would be 14.08km/L) so I would say the trip computer is fairly accurate.
For a full 42L tank, that would be 584.64km.
Mga bro, based on some research, new tires plus a new engine affects fuel efficiency.
Tires should be broken in 800KM (500 miles) and engine 5-8K for optimum performance hence better fuel economy.
My 1.4 Trend sedan has 500KM so far on the odometer and the best mileage I got is 10.3KM/L. My latest is only 9.6KM/L.
My 2002 City gets 12KM/L and I am optimistic Fiesta will match it nearly when it gets to its optimum performance.
Had the tank filled up at Caltex (Tabang in Bulacan) and reset the trip meter today, went to Ford Balintawak for the first month PMS then headed off to Subic via NLEX - SCTEX. Pag-uwi namin nagpafill up ulit at the same gas station/pump.
Trip meter reading: 330.8 kilometers
Gas it took for 2nd full tank: 22.817 liters
So that gives me 14.498 km/l for the trip which was mostly expressway driving with speeds varying between 50 and 100km/h and with the ac on. Took us a while to get out of Olongapo though because of a parade yata kaya medyo na-stuck sa traffic for about an hour or so (that and because we didn't know how to get the hell out of there and get back on SCTEX lol). I'm very happy with the 1.4 sedan MT with regards to FC![]()
You just made my day sir. Being a 1.4 sedan MT owner myself I eagerly awaited someone to post their results with the same exact model I have.
I was starting to doubt the "EPA" and "Thailand" figures earlier quoted in this forum. I mainly drive in local roads and have not had the chance to test highway mileage.
It would be good to know the fuel consumption at the more realistic highway speeds of from 100 to 120 kph. The 1.4L Fiesta has a rev happy engine and superb insulation that at 120 kph you feel you are only running at 80 kph if you don't look at the speedometer. I experienced this last weekend taking the SLEX/Star Tollway all the way to Anilao, Batangas and back using my month old 1.4 MT hatchback. Without knowing it I reached 140 kph, and had to slow down and stay between 100 and 120 kph. Have not had the opportunity to measure my fuel consumption yet.
Korek ka dyan Sir thumper.
Because of its quiet interior and superb audio, one has to deliberately notice both tach and speedometer if one is attempting a personal fuel efficiency record. I used to decide my gear shift "by ear".
I still have to prove to myself the best personal FC in both Hiway and City, then afterwards go back to my real world speeds.
I understand 80KPH at the highest gear is the most fuel efficient speed.
Hope to do a "mostly 80KPH" test run one of these days.
Will share with you the results, if ever it pushes through.
Mga Ka-Fiesters,
Allow me to share my personal results done today around 3:30pm (Trend 1.4 MT sedan). I had my wife as a passenger and A/C was around 1/3 in the "coldness" setting 3/3 being the coldest.
Full tank with Petron Xtra unleaded. Barangay road to NLEX Mexico entrance (Pampanga) about 2KM distance. Drive towards Manila at constant 80KPH. Exit at Sto Domingo (Pampanga) then loop back towards Angeles City. Exit at Angeles, drop by Marquee mall (located right beside exit) for merienda. Enter NLEX again, exit Mexico, back to Petron for full tank.
Distance=60.8 fuel consumed=3.51L mileage is 17.32KM/L
Nakapako talaga sa 80KM all the time in NLEX since we deliberately conducted this trip to prove/disprove the figures some nay sayers accused as just hype.
I say to them : Mekeni abe, mangan ka pamu Tocino!
Ang hirap pala magtravel ng constant 80KPH. Tulad ni cktlcmd, feeling like an old man, we felt our ride had something wrong with it. Pati PUJ's panay overtake sa amin.
Monday being back to work, I should be able to measure and share with you my own personal city figures.
I was having a mild "buyer's remorse" before my test, but now I can fairly state we "Fiesta Pioneers" made the right choice and got a Cherry instead of a Lemon.
Cherry may mean other things to you, but for me it is shiny and sweet and tops nice things like a cake or a sundae. You playboys out there may have some other "cherry" in mind.
Nice work Vovafoxpro.
I am on my second tank now (first got around 14km/L or 7.1L per 100km). First half of second tank took me 315km. Trip computer currently telling me average of 6.7L per 100km, or 14.92km/L. That is around 626 km from a full 42L tank. Been to Tagaytay twice (uphill) and rest all Cavite roads. Very happy with my 1.6 sport hatchback.

Another good news! Although, I surmise that the traffic then was unusually light during these times.
Xmas and new year in Tagaytay is one big traffic jam, but once i got away from there, fairly light. The transmission seems to change at around 2.5k - 3k in 1st and 2nd gear, so a light foot is needed in traffic to make it change earlier. Patience, and looking ahead is the key to good fuel economy. Accelerate slowly to keep the rpms down, and look ahead to avoid exessive braking. The Fiesta auto doesn't like to coast, unless going downhill, so a light foot on the gas is required almost the whole time, otherwise engine braking and unwanted downshifts occur.
My 5th filler up yesterday revealed 374km/31.8L or 11.76km/L. I’m loving the 1.4 MT FC!![]()
