OCC's are a good thing to have in the engine. Just wondering why car manufacturers do not have them by default?

Because there's already the oil filter. Just change it more frequently, although costly.
We just got back from a 1100+km trip on the eve going from QC to Legaspi, then Donsol, back to Legaspi then Naga and back to QC. Sarap talaga ihataw, walang bitin sa overtake lalo na sa mountain roads sa Cam Sur, Albay and Sorsogon.
One complaint: the middle arm rest is almost useless, masyado malayo to be able to rest your right arm on it. Kaya yung left shoulder ko OK lang walang aray, yung right shoulder ko sumakit. Later ko na lang nalagyan ng pillow yung middle arm rest. So next time I go on a long trip papagawa ako ng pillow that will be tied using elastic bands on the arm rest to extend and raise it to be usefull.
Nawala po yung sa akin after bedding the brakes (10 hard brakes).

Why? Cost cutting high end european diesel engine cars have them. Volkswagen, Audi BMW std fitted yan though nit those shiny OCC cans..Volks for example have a Mann Hummel Provent OCC. it may not be described as OCC. rather technically its called oil demister. It's a proven tech specially in industrial application, Am still awaiting my order na provent para makabitan ko din Eve ko. Nacheck ko na yung hose and me oil sheen traces na yung hose *2500km pa lang.
It's definitely not a redundant equipment and lalong malayo function ng oil filter dito.
^^^ what is the best brand for this and where to get this? Pero ma void warranty pag nilagay to, right?

There must be some valid reason why most manufacturers don't put an OCC. I'm not convinced it's about cost since installing one would only setback a company around 6K pesos (Provent 200 online price). For a device that's supposed to help the turbo system and eventually the engine to perform well, it seems a no-brainer installing one in the factory.
Of all the turbocharged diesel-fueled vehicles sold here, how many of them have OCCs installed by default?
My best guess is they do a risk assessment, and based on value engineering that they thought they could skip this out without having a big impact of their engine reliability. In fact Car manufacturers may have thought that skipping this equipment might give them a good return in terms of parts and service. Without an OCC eventually you'll have a restricted inlet manifold due to EGR plus that oil entrained causing heavy emission forcing the car owners to seek repair, way past of their Engine Warranty.
Actually without an OCC drawback really are engine is prone to fouling of intake manifold and oil soaked Intercooler. Also it tend to degrade the rubber intercooler hoses.
Pros for having a correctly design OCC is the reverse of above.
Danger of having an incorrect size OCC is a blown oil seals and head gaskets.
So choose your own poison hehehe.
I guess that ALL window auto Opening and closing are only for the Premium and 3.2 Everest. Mine is a Titanium 2.2 but have tried it and its not working. Checked all settings and the mentioned procedure..it's not working.
Hopefully someday some DIY guy could easily put a hack procedure on how to install it for non-premium Eve.
Hi just want to ask if may under cover ba ilalim ng everest natin sa front. sa akin kasi wala?TIA

can the casa check the alignment of the wheels before we get the unit out??
any advice din po sana on the insurance, casa quoted around 34-35k on the insurance of the trend variant. are there any pros/cons of getting in-house insurance versus getting insurance outside?? thank you
Best guess Sir, but I think they already consider this one when they design such an engine. It takes time to design one and for sure di nila nakalimutan about that OCC, which mean sa new design nila di na po kailangan ng OCC. Di po ako nagsasabi na mali po tayo pero as a designer for sure lahat ng cons and pros ay naiconsider na lahat bago nila ginawa yung engine.
My idea for this OCC is for the 3rd party business agenda. Sila nagsasabi na kailangan lagyan para naman may mabenta sila. Which mean IMO tama si Sir Gomez.. business gimik..
Advise ko lang Sir, you can talk to your SA and request mo wheel alignment bago nila bigay sayo ang unit.
