Don't worry sir, mukhang isolated case lang. Baka ako lang talaga yung minalas. Kasi sabi ng SA, mukhang hindi naman daw common kasi walang stock ang Ford Phils yung sinasabing module. Mga one month daw bago darating. Yes, inuwi ko muna. Umaandar naman kahit deadbol yung buong touch screen

Ouch. Sana nga isolated nga. And sana di na bumalik yung black screen and auto reset na naexperience ko dati. How i wish na may extended warranty ang ford para peace of mind hehe. Keep us posted nalang thanks for the info sir

If I remember it correct, ford offered me the extended warranty.. I declined.

Yup pero sa brandnew cars lang from dealer.. Kung alam ko lang before na aabutan pala ko ng end of warranty bago ko ibenta, sana nagavail nalang din hehe

Hello po mga sirs, hingi lang po ako ng advice about sa Ford explo namin, we received a call from Ford
kelanganna raw ng maintenance check. yung Auto is 6mos na but the kms reading is just 2,500+ kms palang..
bihira kasi gamitin for family lang.
Sabi kelangan na raw mag change oil - kelangan na ba talaga? ano po ba ang okay na pwde ipalit?
Aside from maintenance check ano po ba ang usually gingawa dito..?

Our mitsubishi adbvetnure they have a checklist kung ano mga kelanga i-checkup for every like 5K, 10K,...

For your info. also, maintenance schedule for the explorer is every 10,000 km or every 6 months whichever comes first according to the dealer SA where I got my unit. Better be safe than sorry so just follow the suggested service intervals.

Since it's my first comment to this thread. I want to comment about the "amoy sunog" issue many people have experienced.
I just got my deep impact blue ecoboost unit 4 weeks ago and I also had that burnt smell when I tried to hit the accelerator and reached 140kph. I just eased up a bit and did not come back afterwards. Then after a week I drove via sctex again and this time I tried to floor the accelerator, upon reaching 180kph the burnt smell came again. Ever since never had the same burnt smell again no matter how hard I try to floor the gas, plus I don't that the balls yet to go way past 180kph.
2 of my friends who actually lured me into buying one also had the same issue but after the 1st change oil they said the burnt smell in the cabin if you're running at 4k plus rpm totally disappeared and never experienced the same since. I sure do hope I don't get that burnt smell in the cabin again at whatever speeds. Overall I am more than happy and very pleased with my explorer.

It seems that we really need to "break it in" for that "burnt smell" to go away.

Another thing to point out... due to the whole touch screen head unit not operating, the rear aircon is also affected. No rear aircon... the control panel for the rear aircon that is located behind the center console is not working as well. Wala din yung ambient light

As for the Burnt Smell, I have noticed it is less and less these days. However, it is the foul smell from A/C that somehow comes in every now and then. The smell is like heated engine coolant and rubber. The smell is more apparent in the rear vents: smells like rubber hose especially after the vehicle has not been used for days.

I noticed lately that my gas mileage is getting shorter. Before, I can hit 7.15 km/liter. Now, I am lucky to get 6.80 km/liter. I have been following the PMS religiously and do not have a heavy foot. My only take on this is the really hot humid weather we are having is affecting the gas mileage performance. Does that make sense?

Tried calling Ford Alabang if kasali yung Ex ko sa recall, buti nalang hindi naman daw. Was worried kasi end of 2011 ko nakuha unit. Thanks for the info sir.

For the smell, same as mine wala na din yung burnt but the foul smell from A/C meron lalo na I use the car very seldom lang.

Not sure about the gas mileage, since I don't usually use my Ex lately. Last full tank ko was 2 months ago pa kakawarning lang ng refuel today. Hoping that it won't get shorter.

what's the exact specs of the rims of our explorer limited? planning to replace my rims kasi but same size lang papalit ko. also looking at black rhino rims but if you can recommend other black rims for suv's that would be great. puro pang sports car na rims lang kasi alam ko. pag dating sa SUV wala ako idea kung ano maganda.

After 3 weeks of waiting, finally the application for warranty has been approved. Kahit matagal, ok na din na-approve for warranty considering that I didn't go for the every 6 months PMS.

And now the real waiting period has begun. I was advised that it could take as long as 1 month for the APIM module to arrive from the US.
