Below 1.5k rpm, practically no pulling power at all. From 2k to 4k, pulls like a horse. 4k to redline, feels breathless but still goes. This is my experience with the Ranger so far.

On my way home, I took the Skyway just to check how fast it can really go. Sagad na sagad na talaga yung 170-175. 180 is only achievable pag downhill tapos matagal. Has anyone gone faster than this? I was flat out from Alabang to Magallanes pero yan lang naachieve ko.

For most people though, the Ranger is powerful enough - overtaking from 60-140 is easy, as long as you're in its powerband. Which leads me to my next point - the Ranger really forces you to shift gears, a lot. For this reason and for the fact that the Ranger has a temperamental clutch (or maybe cuz mine's new), 90% of people would be better off with the automatic.

^Kahit pala ang Ranger ganon? But at least you are better off that power kicks in at 1500rpm. Sa Strada namin 2000 pa bago may sipa. Agree with the Santa Fe. Even the previous gen 150hp VGT has no lag at all.

Ive driven the Strada and it's useable below 2k rpm. Enough power to putter around the city with gentle acceleration. Ranger hirap talaga pag may sakay tapos nasa 1-1.5k lang yung revs, youll feel as if itll bog down so magdodownshift ka. But if you shift at 2k, thats about right para the next gear lands at around 1.5k so you get continuous ample power.

2.5 kasi strada 2.2 ang ranger. Even the 2.5 1990s L200 is better to drive at low speeds.

Sanayan lang talaga ang ranger. It takes lots of patience to perfect. Ako di ko na pinoproblema yan. Hehe.

Agree with Djerms, sanayan lang talaga ung shifting. Me, adjusting pretty well on this. As for speed, the last time i remember doing 180-190kph was when i had my honda SIR. I've driven the ranger at max 100 kph palang. Like it this way, I also noticed that other pick ups/SUVs when nakasabay sa atin....Ranger, parang they want to race or go after us as fast as they can. I just let it go.

Baka kung hindi kayang daanin sa looks, sa speed nalang daw. Ang kaso, kakaunti lang din naman yung mainstream SUVs/pickups na malayo ang performance advantage sa Ranger sa rektahan.

Yup my old car was a 1991 L200. Very eager engine - gives all its torque as early as it can. But of course, since it only has 70 hp, it can only give so much..

Ill be going to mla this weekend. Test/ break in ko na xlt matic ko. Ill let you guys know max speed. Pansin ko lang mas malakas sa acceleration yung navara ko dati, kasi napapaiyak ko yung gulong. 4x2 matic din yun. Totoo yung t6 natin pag abot ng 2k rpm doon na siya malakas. Kung power hanap niyo siguro just get the 3.2 wt. Like others satisfied ako sa t6 kasi truck naman ito not a sports car. I got the xlt kasi mas afford ko at masasayang lang sakin sportsbar ng wt sakin, mababawasan pg ka wt kung wala sportsbar . Just my opinion.

With 370nm torque kayang kaya paiyakin ang ulong except that may turbo lag nga kasi si you have to rev it up where the turbo will spool max before releasingthe clutch hehe

I think that's the price we pay for wanting a truck that has a robust and masculine appearance, especially the front. There's no way that can be in any way aerodynamic. The wind noise is very noticeable at speeds beyond 130 kph. All cars are aerodynamically limited. The amount of horsepower you need to get a few more kph exponentially increases depending on the aerodynamics of the car. For a bugatti veyron for example the exponent could be 1.5-2 because of its low profile but for a truck it could be twice or thrice that number. In fact at a certain point wind would offer more resistance than a vehicle's dead weight.

Personally, I'm thankful that it is "limited" to 175-180. If it goes any faster I'm pretty sure idiots will end up wrecking the truck. At higher speeds the truck will lose control with even just a little twitch.

BMW's, Jags are in fact most of the time limited electronically (not just through aerodynamics) because if you allow it to go any faster, bits and pieces would come off the body of the car.

Kahit 4th gear redline shift (mga 150 if I remember correctly) hindi pa rin talaga tatapat Ranger sa mga mabibilis sa highway. Like everyone else has said, hindi talaga exceptional performance ng Ranger so if you put 2 good drivers in a Ranger and a superior car, talo talaga Ranger.
