Unless there is a definite method in determining those fake fleetguards, Baldwin and Bosch are the only safe alternatives.
As for Baldwin, it depends on what model you are looking for. BD28 is really hard to come by. But regular BT223, B1402 are quite common.
As for Bosch, there are constant supply from Warren Trading. Bosch will probably the bottom brand you would settle for locally.

Was at W&L, I was about to get a filter there but I remembered what dvldoc's pointers in spotting genuine Fleetguards.
The filter came in an individual box. The filter was not completely shrink wrapped, only the bottom part. No " Made In ..... " at the side (the image in the Fleetguard website shows none either). Computer etched numbers composed of six digits. No letters.

just want to verify if the bosch oilfilter for 4m41 is AF!-084??? no stock of bd28 so i guess i have to stick with bosch for now.
