They don't look to be as heavy duty of a filter. But the rating is good.
Thanks Sir...I was just thinking if they'll be worth (since they're cheap) if I order them online together with an oil filter relocation kit.

Since this also is a Filter topic just want to confirm if this Filter L24457 I got today is Genuine? NO doubt the Bigger one L34750 is fake!
BELOW Is the Original picture I got from Purolator website, looks same but if looked closer the holes are different from the purchase I made above? im Just thinking maybe I got an older production or has it been always made that way? Can anyone confirm?

^ holes are different in shape, that's a concern. May printed country of origin ba?
sir RT,
How is Union compared to Vic, at kung genuine ba yung Donaldson na which are both available in Volmax for 580 and 280 pesos respectively for 2C Toyota?
TIA
*RT i noticed there's no printed country of origin on the filter.. and I recently search here tsikot someone posted pics of Original Purolator, another indicator was the numbers printed on the top is far different . Ive confirmed I got the fake the oneI cant believe even the guy in charge insisted it was genuine!

I need help mga gurus! I went to volmax to buy oil filter for 6th gen galant. I was not sure of my vic's part number nor the oem part number. So before buying i just searched in the product catalog of baldwin. B173-s daw ang sabi. So i went to volmax and asked the person kung tama ba. sabi niya swak daw.
Apparently pagkauwi ko i did some more research and found out that vic c415 is the part number for my galant. I'm still not sure though kung yun tlga. I'll check tomorrow kung ano ang nakakabit sa car. I crossed reference it sa baldwin website at ang lumabas ay b1402
My question is okay lang ba yung b173-s? Same lang naman thread pattern nila M20x1.5. May konting difference lang sa diameter and length. Another difference is 14PSID yung b1402 vs 20PSID b173-s, which is better? (medyo nakalimutan ko na nung nagbackread ako dati)
Did some research on which is better. 14PSID vs 20PSID. this filters have a bypass valve. So that when the filter is already clogged, magoopen up eto so that oil would still be supplied to the engine (unfiltered though). In a 14PSID limit filter. That valve opens once the pressure is higher than 14PSID. Same applies for 20PSID. So meaning it would take a longer time for the 20PSID to open when clogging occurs (takes more debris before it clogs compared to a 14PSID.
If you're on high rpm sabi nga ni sir EssB, that valve wont open up easily even though the oil pump works harder.
The question now would be the 6PSID difference be a big factor? or is it negligible?
It would be better to have unfiltered oil flowing inside the engine than having everything filtered (with too much pressure differential in & out of the filter) but too restricted flow (then so some parts of the engine would lack lubrication). The lower the bypass valve pressure opening, less chance of that happening.![]()
Pasagot naman ng tanong ko sir! kung ang b173-s ay pwede instead of b1402?
I checked my filter under the hood and it's C-415, so it should be b1402 in its counterpart.
both are baldwin right? minsan kasi sa size ng filter housing and element sa loob kaya mag kaiba ng number, pero kung pareho ng thread sila and kasya naman sa oil filter mount I dont see anything wrong. Also check the description if parehas ang design, either Full-flow or dual-fliter loob nya. but thats it...
Ok lang either 14psid or 20psid as long as the by-pass valveworks...
I use a BD28 since its the one availble (though still hard to get! hehehe) intended for a mitsubishi 4d56 but my engine is a Mitsu 4M40.. no problems and I'm on my second filter. First one was run a 6,000 kms and oil was still good.

BT223 (8PSID) vs B178 (30PSID), which one is better for a Vios? Mas mahaba yung B178 at 5inches vs 3 inches BT223. Kaso nakakaworry lang yung PSID rating medyo magkalayo. I'm on BT223 now btw.
