Was scheduling my 15,000km service for the Corolla. Toyota North EDSA was giving me the BS that they don't accept oils bought outside of their service center. Toyota Shaw does so i'll head there instead.

Something to chew on from Aloicious at GM Truck Central forums

Oil Filter Comparison Study - GM Truck Central

I wish there'll be more judgement of filters in this manner. Bulb lit up and figured how to do something like it without damaging the filters. Will beg chemist friends to source me some filter paper.

    My quick take is:

    1. It seems that all the cellulose types perform almost the same.

    2. Synthetic filter media. After the top 3 filters, partial synthetic media won't cut it.

    3. A million thanks to that author dude. Awesome dude.

I think since the thread started, volmax had imported quite a few bd28s but now they are selling more to their wholesalers, since people know that bd28 costs less than 800 pesos, they left it to all the wholesalers to make their markup, i wasnt surprise to see bd28 baldwins being sold here in binondo and caloocan for 1000 to 1200 per filter.

Mobil 1 TDT hs lower TBN because of its CJ-4 rating which means it is for diesel engines with better diesel fuel. So they dont need much TBN. But it is 2x expensive since it is synthetic and it is more expensive to produce and there are a lot of other additives. For a gas engine with a catcon, the Mobil 1 TDT is such an excellent oil. Been using it even in a 4-stroke motorcycle and after 5,000kms oil is just about the same when you first post it. Proof of its being a synthetic making it more durable even in high temp, high-revving engines.

Clarification lang on this, is it really 1700ppm for mobil delvac mx? Thought it was below 1200 ppm?

    Darn. Typical victim of success.

Ikalat nalang natin na walang kwenta ang BD28 para bumalik sa lower price and dumami stock.

V6 yan right? What's the stock part model? Since its a 3.0L V6, I'd bet the engine bay will be tight though if you're looking to put a bigger filter.

It's a toss. Choose the better priced, easy to source, and the sure non-fake filter.
