Good thing its takes me 6 months to reach 5,000 kms on change oils.... hehehe

Dvldoc since using a good filter like baldwin or fleetguard we can change at 10,000 kms is it safe to change oil by the number of kms vs. no. of months? many car manufacturers say 3months or 5,000kms whichever comes first.. Like my truck, I travel less than 5,000 kms on a 6 month basis.. so If i follow the manufacturers suggested schedule at 3mos. I'd be changing oil at around 3,000kms which I think is throwing away a slightly used oil whether i'm on fleet filters or regular ViC filter.

It's a hassle going to Volmax. One-Way streets, cars parked at the side of the road, people walking at the road, vendors/merchandise at the sidewalk, motorcycle squeezing themselves at any available space. Its chaos out there! I feel more at home at Commonwealth Ave. with its 6 lanes available for cutting, swerving, dodging and the like hahaha

*alwayz, bro may warranty ka pa, baka masayang lang if you install a non-oem part (even if it performs better).

Would the Purolator PureOne PL14477 be ok to use with a Toyota Yaris (1NZ-FE 4-cylinder engine)? This is recommended for the Toyota Corolla, and appears to be somewhat bigger than the PL14476 that cross-references with the OEM Yaris filter. Should be good for 10,000 km OIC right?

*miko...Sir okei lang ba gamitin yung ZIC UP 10W-40 for gas engines? It has a TBN of 10 hindi kaya madali naman ang Catalytic Converter ko neto.. Compare mo sa Bardahl SynPulsar M..ano kaya mas mahusay?...am guessing mas maraming detergents and antiwear additives ang for diesel used right?

OT..Sir cant pm you inbox full na daw. Am thinking kase kung eto ang bring mo tom for my oils.

Yes the Purolator Pureone will go 10000klm easily.

*blue_gambit Go by mileage not by months when it comes to changing your oil, I won't leave mine in more than a year but that's just my thing, It's easily still good because the TBN will not just reduce over time and the Total acid number will not just magically go up either.

If you do a oil analysis you will know exactly how your vehicle is doing.

dvldoc, i think the thing here is the traffic jam. thats why other people also consider the number of months.

1st of all thank you for the very helpful thread.

I only got to read the first 5 pages as i have no intention to read a whole 100++-page thread.

if you dont mind, i have a few questions:
#1. Based from your posts, WIX, Fleetguard and Baldwin are the best filters around. I read in your posts that you were planning to import these filters in the philippines. Do you have them for sale right now? I have a toyota 3L engine, and based on your posts, toyota's filters arent good enough. So i would really like to install those filters on my car. (contact numbers and/or adresses would help greatly)

#2. Are Isuzu's filters at par, or subpar? im planning to buy one soon.

    thanks and long live.

in my opinion kung wala naman leak ang sasakyan mo, i don't think it can totally shorten drastically the life of the CAT.... Maganda naman Syn-pulsar M.. fully yun eh... Hindi naman heavy duty use cguro yung auto mo, a fully synthetic oil like bardahl would be good para ma preserve estimated life nang CAT...

Thanks for the reply Doc, I rarely get into traffic. Its just that the car doesn't travel that far...

I remember when I went to Volmax, nag double park lang ako... hehehe

Pero ang hirap talaga pumunta dun, even if either you're coming from binondo church or sta.cruz church. Its right smack in the middle...

Sir miko, I am located here in Iloilo City, that is why I can not seem to get those quality filters that sir Dvldoc has suggested to use to prolong our engine oils. If you could do this favor for me, I appreciate it very much. My ride is an Isuzu Trooper 4JG2 local version, thanks

dvldoc, i checked these suppliers already, they do not seem to carry the filters you gave me for my ride except for F&E Enterprises who have the FF5160, but none for the oil filters that is why I was hoping maybe I can ask miko if I can order through him.
