Nasa page28 nung document.
I agree with you Meledson.
I change mine every 5k regardless of vehicle new or old. It's all about removing the dirt not how long you can keep it in the engine for.
The big push for longer interval oil changes were not from the car manufacturer's but from the so called green earth environmental people.
If they want to be green focus on recycling and trucks, buses and jeeps spewing out thick black smoke not the common motorist.
I'm from Australia and now reside in the Philippines and since I had my first car until my latest 2016 my target is always 5k more or less for oil changes you can't go wrong. I never used a catch can or blocked egr and never had any bad carbon build up either or turbo issues. NEVER had any sludge as well.
I use a semi synthetic oil any good proven brand but If a mineral oil only I use mobile Delvac due to its additives.
Others will debate that 7k-10-20k oil change is ok but with me the more regular you change the oil the more healthier your engine will be in the long run for your turbo, egr and piston ring wear.
If it's a truck well that's a different story and topic as most run fully synthetic and can do 10k in a week of continuous running.
In tI'm end it's not what oil you use but how often you change it.

ganun ba sir? sabi kasi nung kausap ko FS daw yung kanila..i was about to recommend it to a friend who's warranty just lapsed few days ago..due na sya this month and sabi ko nga medyo mura yung ZIC, then FS na..i double check ko nga yung picture na sinend nung seller sa akin...baka regular oil lang yun ah...
Curious lang: If the oil darkens or gets black after few months use, does it mean the engine is dirty? or the oil is of poor grade. I tried using synthetic oil 5-10W and got better result. My sparkplugs burns ideally as evidenced by the color of the plugs which is rusty red shade. and even on cold mornings i dont experience cold starting. thanks in advance
for diesel engines, the soot&acid does darken the color much faster
for petrols it does darken but at a later date.. ss oil and fs oil so far darkens around 3000km or 75hrs(engine running timee) for my vehicle.
its normal..

hello mga masters
ask ko lang if may naka experience na po sa inyo mag switch ng
API SM to API SN and saw / experienced any significant difference?
thanks po
not that significant in theory. even my 2014 car only requires api-sl.
tbh i havent seen any api-sm oils..
whats the vehicle in question?
api-sm 2010 and older
api-sn this is somewhat current
api-snrc this is current.

vios po na 3rd gen
since my odo is expected to hit 15,000km this saturday, i had to look for replacement baldwin bt223
the other guy whom i bought it from last year suddenly does not respond anymore so looked for another
too bad the only seller i found requires me to buy oil along with the filter (understandable since COD for a single filter is just not worth it)
unfortunately the best oil he offers is a fully synthetic API SM one (ZIC XQ 5w40)
my engine is currently loaded with Helix 7 (which is API SN)
what does your owners manual say? does it require api-sn or older?

Is it better to get Toyota's synthetic oil an 654/L but every 10,000kms and change interval, rather than the regular one na every 5k kms?
