Some manufacturers REQUIRE a certain viscosity for their engines. I would think they know better compared to the usual na sinasabi that 20w50 is always better dahil tropical country tayo (and mas mura pa ).

The Skyactiv engines rev up to 1500rpm on cold starts and stay there for around 20secs to heat up the cat converter. I don't think makakaakyat agad ang 20w50 to lubricate the moving parts.

oh i did not know that it takes 20sec to heat it up. yup I agree not advisable to use oil viscosity 20w50

BTT: My 2NZ sounds happy on DGU 15w40. Checked the oil after six months of daily use and medyo brownish pa sya maybe because of the Baldwin filter. It's due for a change next week. Same combo ulit
