Mineral , semi synthetic or fully synthetic?

Need your input lang mga sir. Torn between hell hx7 (blue bottle), mitasu and Royal Purple for my Mirage G4 * 10,000 kms PMS. Any advice? Thanks!!!

hx7 is only a 10w40.

go for 5w30 mitasu gold(api-sn & dexos1) or 5w30 platinum(a3/b4 ..heavy duty stuff)

if you want royal purple, 5w30 API (like mitasu gold) or their 5w30 HPS(acea a3/b4.. like the mitasu platinum )

no need for the 40w.. its a small displacement engine designed with 0w20. a 5w30 is already heavy for this mivec engine.

sir *StockEngine, hindi ba masyadong malabnaw/manipis yung 0w-20 para sa mirage G4? kasi nakalagay sa manual for mineral is 15w-40 and for synthetic is 5w-40. sorry confused ako but thanks sa input ;)

0w20 is thin but it will still have good film strength. but im suggesting 5w30. sure you can use a 40weight but thats for bigger engines or heavy duty use..

thanks sir *StockEngine, mukang ok naman feedback ng mga mirage owners gamit ang 5w-30 (Royal Purple). mas mura nga lang sa Shell kaya napaisip din ako since i'm planning to change my oil din naman every 5k so thinking that a mineral oil will suffice my engine needs for a mileage of 5,000 kms.

feedback ng mirage owners? based on what? gut feeling? napa- oil analysis ba sila?

that's exactly the problem w/ "recommendations". all based on conjecture coz i'm no expert, you're not an expert either. so just follow your manufacturer's recommendation. my car says 10,000kms / 6-months, mineral oil OK (normal schedule, not severe). so i just follow that

may malaking difference ba sa performance pag mga high performance oil ang gagamitin ko sa isang 3-cylinder car like Mirage G4? fuel efficiency? etc..? thanks!

thanks sir *StockEngine, yes - i was told that it can keep up till 7,000 kms but for me, the 2,000 kms is for my buffer sa traffic, idle/stall time ng engine. ok din pala 'to. yung gamit ko kasi dati sa mirage hatch ko is yung Shell HX5 (yellow bottle), 15w-40. gusto ko sana itry to with same practice of using the OEM filter ng Mirage G4. wala akong tiwala sa casa work eversince sir eh. bawal ka tumigin sa work nila, di mo alam if bagong oil ba talaga ginamit, worst is lagpas sa F mark yung oil when you measure it with dipstick. sana wala namang major issue ang oto since lalabas na ako sa casa for my 10k KMS PMS.

My engine oil color looks like #3 in this photo. Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40. 13 months old. Less than 3,000 km traveled. I plan to change oil in December at 15 months.

Umaabot ba sa kulay ng no. 6 ang oil for gas engines? Everytime magpalit ako nasa no. 5 ang kulay ko, so iniisip ko ito na yung sagad dahil ang black oil baka sa diesel engines lang.

Dyan ako napa praning bro, kasi may mga nagsasabi, matakot ka pag hindi maitim ang oil mo pag change at regular intervals kasi it means hindi daw masyado nalilinis ang makina. 5k din ako magpalit or 7 months kung wala pa 5k.

Pag maganda ang airbox filter mo, madalang talaga umitim ang oil lalo na maganda oil filter at ok naman ang interval ng oil change.
