i received a proposal for an engine improvement product, it's called Xado (pronounced as Ha-Doe) Revitalizing Gels for Gasoline and Diesel Engines (www.xado.com), and does the following:

    - Engine power brought to 100%
    - Increases Oil Pressure and Torque
    - Decreases Oil Burn-Out loss
    - Economical Repair (up to 70% savings) with no downtime and disassembly
    - Increases (up to 42.5%) and equalizes compression across all cylinders
    - restores geometry and weight of worn parts
    - reduces friction coefficient up to 300 times
    - improves mileage by 5-7%
    - reduces fuel consumption at idle by as much as 30%
    - lower CO (up to 24%) and CH (up to 88%) emission
    - 10 times decrease on noise, vibration and harshness

there were testimonials from some individuals, the one that caught my attention was a Mr. Clemente H. Lopez, a farm manager and member of Balayan Off-Road and Nissan Patrol Club of the Philippines. to fellow NPCP members, do you know him?

a tube of Xado Gel costs P1,960.00. for engines with oil capacities of 3-10 liters, 3 tubes would be needed.

What do you guys think about this product? is this another Khaos like thingy?

3 x P1960 = P5880. almost 190 liters of unleaded 95 na din yan, malayo na mararating ko sa 190 liters.

besides, it it's due for an overhaul, then overhaul. even if it works you will only be delaying the inevitable. tago mo na lang yung P5880 mo pandagdag sa needed repairs.

and whoever are those people who gave testimonies, i'm sure their opinions were not based on scientifically approved testing methods (you know, controlled parameters, measured results). so those testimonies are good as nothing.

    up ko lang to...

My car is over 20years old... although ok pa naman, i'm pretty sure that this engine is quite banged up... Ano dapat expectation and advice na mabibigay mo allanroy? (if you still check the boards)...

I already resigned from Xado last Dac 2005 but I'm hoping na maging subject yung car ko for testing, my ride is a 93 ECCS, 107T mileage.

    Dyno Test Before and After

boybi, may kontak ka pa ba sa Management ng Xado? kse kung ako magpropose sa kanila baka kung ano lang isipin ng mga yun...

all the additives/miracle workers are pretty much a bunch of bs imo. out of all the products that have been dyno tested, none has made power so far

This product was never dyno tested here, however the compression test in Canada, c/o Redline Performance, resulted in a significant increase in cylinder compression...

Miracle is something science can't explain...

Now I'm not promoting the product here, I'm just open to new ideas.

Taking it from an engineering point of view, I just think the theory behind this makes sense.

how was the compression test done? do you have the methodology?

what few people know is that you can cheat a lot while testing compression.
-test the engine while the engine is cold and you get low compression because there is no oil around the rings
-test the engine while it is hot and you get slightly higher compression because oil viscosity increases when hot promoting better sealing sa chamber
-test the engine with a straight 90 oil and super taas na ng compression mo.

show us how it does all of the above and give us some hard figures muna. what so few people realize is that they want so much for something to work, i.e. a cheap way to get better milage, more power, less blowby, more compression that they are about ready to believe anything some bunch of "engineers" claim. and the funny thing is that they are willing to part with a couple of thousand pesos for something like that pero when it comes to maintaining the car properly they are so tipid with it opting to put off important work to later.

i'm sorry for fuming but gimmicks and tricks like this really get to me and start me fuming. you are practically robbing people of their money with something like this. kawawa na mga tao! wala na nga pera pang gas pero binebentahan pa sila ng product na walang effect but some placebo thing which fools people into thinking that it works.

    arghhh... i'm pissed!

Hindi biro ang presyo niyan, ha.

Kung sira na talaga engine mo, ipagawa mo na. Bakit ka pa bibili ng ubod ng mahal na band-aid?

Again, I'm not selling anything here! I'm a customer too! I'm willing to offer my ride for a test just to know once and for all kung magwowork ba to, are you getting my point here? Yung nga lang, mahal sya mashado kaya nga ask ko si boybi kung may contact pa sya sa Xado para ma-test ng FREE yung auto, this could be a make or break situation for the them (Xado).

Eto yung test na ginawa nila sa Canada:

I'm just thinking out loud. Siyempre kung free test to find out, ok lang din naman.

and I would assume that any damage caused by the product (if any) would be covered by them too...

allanroy, i'm not getting mad at you naman. i'm pissed at the company and people who run scams like this. wala naman methodology sa testing dun sa redline article. who knows baka may mga ginalaw din sila with the engine. hard to be sure with tests such as this. it seemed to me more like a testimonial...

when you worked for them in what capacity was it? marketing? sales?
