Please recommend brand of motor oil for change oil for Toyota Altis 2003

Hi, my car Toyota Altis 2003 model 1.6G just underwent top engine overhaul because of oil sludge. Before kasi nagpapachange oil ako every 10k and I am using fully synthetic oil before.

Right now, magpapachange oil ako every 4000 km para maiwasan na po yun oil sludge kasi from what I had heard medyo prone to oil sludge daw mga Altis at Vios. Kahit ordinary motor oil na lang po gamitin para mas mura basta every 4k ang palit.

What oil can you recommend and also for flushing. Balak ko po kasi ako bibili ng oil tapos papachange oil ko na lang sa mga Servitek para mas mura.

I am looking right now at Castrol 20W-50 ok po ba ito? 1 Gallon is P850. If change oil daw, bibili ng 1 gallon at isang maliit.

20w50 is too thick. check your owner's manual for the recommended oil viscosity first. then let us know, and we'll suggest affordable and good quality oil.

I agree with sir crazy_boy, 20w/50 is too thick. Better if you could have the 20w/40/30 15w/40/30 10w/40/30.

20w50 is in the manual. 10w40 also. Any 10w40 or 15w40 na mineral oil pwede na. Shell delo castrol.. 200 per liter range usually.

Magtanong lang ako ng ilang bagay:
1. Yun previous na oil changes ninyo, yun 10k ilang buwan inaabot?
2. Ilan na po ba yun total mileage ng sasakyan ninyo?
3. Ano po brand nun FS oil na gamit ninyo noon at anong grade?
4. Saan po kayo nagpapa change oil noon? If sa labas po, sino po nag provide ng langis?
5. Regarding flushing, diba kaka top overhaul lang so no need
6. Nun nagpa top overhaul kayo, as in yun cylinder head lang ba binakas nila o nag dukot sila ng pistons?
7. Paano po ba driving habit ninyo? Short trips? Stop & go traffic? Long distance?

ok ang 20w-50... ang mali mo lang kase eh di ka sumunod sa owners manual for severe conditions sa pag change oil, ang naka lagay 5000 km or 6 months which ever comes 1st... wala naman naka lagay dyan kung fully synthetic o hinde... meaning any kind of oil basta pasok sa API specs pwede...

Sa altis ko dati. I change every 4k din or every 4 months. Shell na hx5 gamit ko. 1.3k all in sa shell gas station

1. Nakakadalawang full tank po ako usually per month. So that's equivalent approximately to 600 km.
2. Around 75000 km po yun mileage ng Altis 2003 ko now.
3-4. Sa Shell po ako lagi nagpapachange oil. Di ko po alam kung anong grade basta fully synthetic lang po naalala ko. Sila na po yun pumipili kung anong grade kasi po hindi ako sobrang marunong sa mga ganyan.
6. Not sure po. Ang alam ko binuksan nila yun cylinder head then nacheck nila walang tama yun mga piyesa kaya ginawa nila linis na lang. Hindi nila binaba yun engine mismo. 1 afternoon lang po natapos nila yun buong process. So meaning po ba change oil na lang hindi na kailangan ng flushing or mas maganda iflushing pa para mas malinis lalo?
7. short trips lang po ako usually. More sa gabi lang ako lumalabas usually para mas walang traffic.

Sir, hindi ko na po makita yun owners manual ng sasakyan ko kasi po nabili ko lang po ito ng second hand before and hindi yata napasa sa akin yun owners manual. Hopefully others tsikoteers na may Toyota Altis 2003 model can help me identify ano mga oils na pwede. Thanks po.

20w50 is in the manual. 10w40 also. Any 10w40 or 15w40 na mineral oil pwede na. Shell delo castrol.. 200 per liter range usually.

I have altis 07 G. Di masyado sa brand yan, more on sa interval talaga. Alagaan Naten altis naten at prone nga sa sludging.

Aside from visual inspection, any signs or symptoms sa takbo before nag sludge? Or you think na dahil sa sludge.

Ung 07 model between 10 and 20 nasa manual yan. I reckon same lang sa 03.
