pansin ko po kasi hindi ganun kalakas yung white smoke pag idle pero mapapansin mo na may usok talaga.. tapos pag nag sshift po ako sa 3rd gear makikita mo nag eemit ng medyo makapal na white smoke.. sa 3rd gear lang nangyayari sir..

I noticed that I started having fuel backflow problems after I replaced my fuel filter. The former one was an Asahi brand while the replacement was something really el cheapo (Sakura or something similar sounding) as I had no time to get one during the time I changed it. Do diesel fuel filters also have one way check valves like those in oil filters?

If not, how about feed/primer pumps? Are they equipped with a one way valve? Or am I missing a fuel check valve along my fuel plumbing?

Are there other users who experienced similar fuel back flow issues? Basically, the result is having to occasionally pump the feeder by hand till the fuel reaches the injection pump (pag bumigat na yung pump, it will start with one click). I'm using an FC321 but planning to change to a Baldwin BF7534 (4D56 application).

Of course, we often see this condition.

Atmospheric air is getting into the injection pump, hoses and gaskets, or filter assembly when engine is not running. Check for worn sealing gaskets or loose fittings.

Thanks! I'll check for air leaks or loose fittings then. Will also check the filter baka kulang sa higpit both filter and water separator.

hello dieseldude, i own a kia sportage gen1 kr2 2.0l diesel, model 1997 i think. any idea on why sea-oil diesel gives a low rpm - flat on the 2/3 line at idle as against shell/petron which a tad higher around 5rpm. power's about the same on highway or hilly roads. location is Zamboanga City. thanks, this thread is most useful and practical. more power!

Dieseldude, is it true that Montero Sport Non-VGT's engine is "sirain" in the long run? Some people told me that the 4d56 engine is just good at first. They didnt tell me naman kung ano yung mga "sirain" na yun. I'm just scared. Any thoughts on this engine? TIA.
