If the K&N air flow specs match or exceed Toyota's, and if your cost comparison is correct, K&N would be a good alternative....

Many thanks. That is exactly what I'm looking at, the specs of the original against that of K&N.

On another topic, I'm a bit worried about these DENSO Common rail system failures. Do you have statistics (Year Model against Number of cases you have attended to). Will the possible defects result to a significant danger when driving? PM me please if the answer is sensitive.
