Sure sure.

December 17th, 2010 12:32 AM #127mga sir,
paano po ba yung proper warm up ng CRDi engines?medyo nasanay po kasi ako ng Gas na pagstart e no more warming up na e so , after start put to D then on my way na ko , ok lang po ba yung ganito o dapat warm up muna?
ang alam ko po kasi is yung pag cool down is to allow mga 1 to 2 mins sya na idle muna before turning OFF yun engine .
makakasama din ba kapag yun travel mo is is short distance lang maybe errands lang usually maybe 1 km or less then turn off engine ?pero once in a while naman nakakastretch din sya if we go out of towns e.
minsan kasi ilalabas ng garage then turn off again so less than 5 mins lang yung takbo ng engine di ba?
any other infos po about the proper Do's and DONT'S ng CRDi engines is greatly appreciated po

Doesn't really matter if its a CRDi or not, gas or diesel. It's just a form of fuel injection system. All engines need proper warm-up period before you go straight on driving. One reason for this is to let your oil reach its proper viscosity for driving demands although multi-grade oils nowadays compensate for that.
Pero, its still a good habit to warm it up for a few minutes so that you have time to observe for unusual noises the engine may be having.
Parang tao din, inat-inat muna ng konti.
With CRDi's, maintain a clean fuel supply. If you suspect contamination, have the tank drained and the system flushed out. Regular fuel filter change would lessen the possibility of problems later on. On models with water separator in them, drain water accumulations from time to time. Regular tune-ups, basic na yun. Injectors and pump are expensive. Oil in the combustion chamber will foul-up the injectors and if you're having excessive oil consumption without the apparent leaks, chances are the rings are shot. Repair at once.
You can turn the engine off anytime, there's no waiting period needed. It has been suggested before that short-distance travel is not good for the engine in the long run.
