so if you take a CRDI unit for an emissions test. then it should record 0 for the emissions test then right? that is if the current testing system is used right?

    HI Cocoy,

The smoke test equipment will display your actual opacity level.

As an example, if the passing level is at 1.9 for turbocharged engines, and your reading is 0.1, it just means that your vehicle has passed the test. Any reading less than 1.9 would be considered as passing.

    Bye,

I beg to disagree. I have a 1995 Safari with a 4.2 liter 6 cylinder engine with 160,000+ kms on its odometer. It stills runs fine to this day 12 yrs. It only had nozzle replacement from the previous owner and regular oil change every 5,000 km.

we recently acquired kia sportage 4x4 2.0 CRDi last Dec 22, 2007. 520 KM pa lang ang odo nya. we're located in naga city, camarines sur and we're planning to go to baguio city this coming march using our new ride. my question is, will that new CRDi engines will able to endure such long ride?

Yes. Just put a full tank in beforehand, and try to avoid filling up at small or questionable gas stations along the way.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Is it true that diesel engines consume lesser fuel during idling vs petrol?

Also, if your ride has a turbocharger, observe the proper cooldown procedures before shutting off the engine.

We frequently have roundtrip journeys from Pangasinan to Quezon City and back in our 2006 CRDI Starex.
