yun na nga. baka di kaya ng live battery mo
basta make sure yung live batt malakas and tama pag lagay ng jumper
kanina kasi u said it cranks but wont start so akala ko tuloy tuloy cranking pero ayaw mag start

oo nga cat, bakit hindi mo palitan ng bagong baterya para start na agad? nasa 3k lang naman ung 2SM.
I don't think a 2SM battery costs only 3k. I got mine over 5 yrs ago and it cost me 3.5k already.

Hmmmm, cranking tapos tumitigil. I doubt na timing belt yan. Nasa electrical pa rin ang problema nito. Lets isolate...
1. Battery
2. Alternator
3. Starter
Sabi mo nag jumper ka na pero wala pa rin. Nag crank ang makina pero namamatay. Kung ganyan na, wag mo na i-sacrifice yun malakas na battery. Gawin mo nalang yun sinasabi ni Uls na humanap ka ng malakas na battery, as in yun malakas tapos i-start mo. Kung nag-start, check mo yun dashboard mo kung umiilaw yun mga indicator lights at dalhin agad sa electrical shop at patignan mo na yun starter mo at alternator na rin. Tapos bili ka na rin ng battery na bago. Yun 2SM mo, kahit 5 years na yan, possible na wala na yan sa 100%.
I'm sorry pero parang napakasimple ng problem. get the battery of the Altis since proven na kaya niyan magpastart ng Oto then put on the big body. Start the car, hindi madidiskarga yung battery sa isang o dalawa try.
put it on ignition on position, pump the gas pedal at least twice. start... takbo sa battery shop with no electric loads. no a/c, radio and lights. wag matakot mamatay engine. it has enough juice to run for at least 20kms kahit traffic.
Kung ayaw tumuloy ng crank, tell us what's happening.
edit: wag bitinin yung crank, let it crank for at least 3secs.

As per her description, nag crank pero humihinto. Either starter or may restriction sa belt-driven components.
Given that the battery is OK, the mechanic would try to isolate the pulleys by removing drive belts.
Kung nag start without the drive belts, check the pulleys for abnormal restrictions - alternator, water pump, PS, aircon compressor.
Or.. 2years kamo hindi na change oil and she did'nt mention about the oil dipstick. Baka natuyuan ng langis o varnish na sa viscosity.
from how I read it, jumper cable lang then start. ilan amperage ng cable, gaano katagal pinapatakbo yung donor car. parang bitin pa sa power kaya 2 redondo lang. recta na yung galing sa Altis.
Ayaw nya tanggalin ang battery ng donor car, marereset ang memory.
A typical reduction type starter including the solenoid could consume 60A, starts as low as 7V (her jumper is rated 400A, i jst dont know how good the clamps). Pero kung may restrictions, it could go higher and damage the starter.
Meron sya dead battery from subject car at meron sya spare 2sM battery. She has 2 options if shes still stuck with battery problem.
1 buy the battery charger, charge those batteries overnight then test it again.
2 bring those batteries to the shop for proper diagnosis or charging, then test again..

I have a 2SM spare battery naman. Yun na lang gamitin ko, hindi ko na kailangan tanggalin yung sa Altis.

400amp jumpers are weak. it would take some time to charge enough power for the car to turn over. kuha ka na ng mga gauge 4 wires. Ewan ko na lang kung hindi pa crank yan.
