sorry to dissapoint you guys but the horses inside the 1.3 liter engine of CHANA benni is not 88hp though 63kw was right! 1kw=1.31hp which means it only has 82.53hp to be exact.and it is available at 6000rpm. the tachometer (rpm guage) reads only at 7000rpm max with its REDLINE limit at 6000 which means to release all the horses in the engine you must reach the redline. and we all know that any engine reaching at 6000rpm shouts really loud (are you familiar with the hp of honda jazz 1.5 engine at around 5000+rpm just to reach its peak hp, it really shout out noise). though max torque of benni's engine is 110Nm (81ftlb) available at a low rev or 3000 and available until 4000 that means uphill and full load operation is very promising, specially acceleration. thanks to its electronically controlled accelerator pedal, no more sticky breakable cables is needed (probobly, with some aftermarket microchips will improve the acceleration better.hope there is available). so your asking for price range, sorry i can't tell until it is officially launch though i can give you all a clue. it's actually much expensive than ALTO and QQ (CHERRY is the brand name, the name of the car is QQ) in about 100K more, but around 60K cheaper than PICANTO and GETZ. just visit the MIAS on april 3-6 at WTC or buy TOPGEAR april issue it is critisize there... sorry i mean testdrive there. with its price range compare to it's direct competitor, all 4 models has 1.1 engine below like picanto and getz with a 490K though alto and qq is about 319K it only has .8 engine and around 340K for the 1.0 engine. benni with a 1.3 engine that delivers 82hp and a torque of 110Nm is really a value for money. more than this, a high torque at low rpm means you don't have to rev the engine at high rpm just to move it or rotate the wheels. this means that low rpm means low fuel consumption. and we all know fuel economy is no. 1 requirement now on vehicles.it has an ABS with load sensing proportioning valve (much like EBD but mechanical, instead of electronic), a drivers airbag, CD w/ AM/FM tuner plus MP3 aux. airconditioning is good, with cup holders like everybody wants in a car, much cargo and leg room. aluminum mag wheels with a 165/65R14 tires (china said a 170/60R15 can be fitted to benni's feet for max grip). front and rear fog lamps, third breaklight (sorry no rear window defogger on MT), halogen4 headlights (so HID can improve benni's night vision), electronic power steering (electric motor assist the drivers effort in steering the vehicle instead of hydraulic pump. wich by means driven by the engine by belt) which automatically increase steering effort as the vehicle travels faster or above 20KPH. that's why it becomes heavy when the vehicle is fast and lighter when slow. it is intensionally designed in all car models actually to assist stability in highway driving like hydraulic power steering does. power lock, power window, engine anti theft so you can't go to MR. QUICKY to have your favorite disigned duplicate keys, because a sensor is located at the ignition switch that senses the correct key. once a duplicate key was inserted, it will start for a moment at the engine shutoffs it self. and guys don't worry about parts, its avialable in china.... i mean in chana philippines. so much for my magazine article, so for any comments or question, i'll be glad to share things with you regarding benni.

chana! akala ko indian restaurant o pagkain hahaha..

pricing should be around 350-380k lang..yes its feature packed but..will it last? yan tanong ng madlang people na bibili..kung mazda nga eh may doubts pa tao nung lumabas yung mazda3. lalo na unknown and new car brand, sana super mura for a chance to compete..parang china dvd players,mp3 players etc..yun bang ok lang kapag nasira dahil mura lang

well when mazda release the 3 people doubts doesn't remains doubts until it beats the sales of lancer, lynx and sentra. of course who can beat altis and civic. but come to think of it, cherry was given a chance though ranks number 5 in china and the manufacturer of chana benni (changan automobile in chongqing china) ranks number 3. and changan automobile is also the sub manufacturer of suzuki and ford mondeo, s-max and focus in china where the technology of chana vehicles (BENNI) was adopted. specially on its electrical system like ignition, abs and air bag that uses the technology of BOSCH and DELPHI. and the benni uses the suzuki engine like the one in the suzuki APV.

so you mean if you have a cheap car around 350K-380K that overheats and the engine breaks down thats ok concidering it's only a china brand you wont regret buying a new china brand again cause its cheap? man your RICH!!!!! its not a USB flashdrive. with a full pack features comes a price ofcourse with a garranty and warranty of quality, quantity, safety, reliability, comport and performance.

just visit the chana test drive at MIAS on april 3-6 to find out.

was talking about pricing it low for people to even consider buying it..wala pa dun yung reliability factor.. so i think i get what you are trying to say na wala sa pricing basta ok performance.. . will people gamble on it kapag malapit lang ang presyo ninyo sa more popular established brands? im not putting your product down ha? Im just wondering....

They went to Subic last Holy Week and they sang praises with the Benni's torquey engine while traversing the zigzag roads of Olongapo with 4 people and their luggage

"electronic power steering (electric motor assist the drivers effort in steering the vehicle instead of hydraulic pump. wich by means driven by the engine by belt) which automatically increase steering effort as the vehicle travels faster or above 20KPH. that's why it becomes heavy when the vehicle is fast and lighter when slow. it is intensionally designed in all car models actually to assist stability in highway driving like hydraulic power steering does."

We were trying to find the power steering fluid reservoir and to our surprise, it's not there. Electronic power steering pala, so this means less parasitic loss sa engine than the hydraulic type.

Our community will be the first to know regarding reliability factors, parts etc. for this car.

But as of now the car has ran 1,500kms and still going strong with no problems.

BTW same issue din yan dati sa Hyundai when they started and look at them now. IMHO if the manufacturer stands and believes with their products it can go a long way.

Also pala you can check on this website and read if reliability is an issue.

hmmm...medyo mataas sya kung nasa 420k. if they are planning to sell it at that price then they should beat the 5 yr warranty ng hyundai...or else mahihirapan yan. common sense dictates na magdagdag ka na lang ng konti dun ka na sa mas subok na brand...they should also learn from the lessons of proton by the way...

analysis ko lang...mahihirapan ang mga china brand magbenta ng passenger cars dito...pero promising sila kung lorry at hauler paguusapan or bus. i think that they should look into that direction instead. without aggressive marketing and gimiks...mahihirapan sila. alamin dapat nila yun laban na papasukan nila hehehe...

so thats the reason why benni's price is in that range because of its packages! does GETZ have airbags, ABS, Loadsensing metering valve, engine anti-theft, aluminum wheels, a fuel economy high torque high power 1.3 engine (does QQ,alto, picanto, sparks has that with that kind of price?). the reason why hyundai gave a 5 year warranty is that since china cars is now entering the country with there low low price, the only thing to compete is to have gimiks like 5 year warranty just to beat the china car pricing. common sense also that in a 5 years period of time when someone bougth getz, in that 5 year warranty, does the car will have an ABS?,airbag?, a 1.3 engine? i don't think so. having it in an aluminum wheels, alarm system, increase in torque and hp will add another cause to the car. and considering price and performance and brand, do you know any....any car dealer offering that kind of product full pack below 450K? jazz, swift, yaris, aveo is around 700K+ some 800+K. city and vios is around 550+K. and i'm not saying benni is the best car of choice, but for common average people that wants his/her first car with budget of that price range i dont think brand name is less conciderate.

at the end of the day...its still a chinese car brand. a big leap of faith :P

they will still have to gain the confidence and approval of various saftey bodies in the US and europe :P

lets wait and see...ganun din naman ang KIA noon. but look at where they are at now. lets give them time. time to gain the trust of the market

PS: id rather have the confidence from a 3-5 yr warranty offered by an established company rather than some upstart at the local market. baka maging tulad lang yan ng proton hindi nagtagal dito. ngayon...saan kukuha ng parts yun mga nakabili noon ng proton hehehe the warranty outlived the company's existence in the local market :P

I saw this at the MIAS too. I got in out of curiosity, and medyo plasticky nga yung interior. (but then again, most cars have plasticky interiors)

so some of u guys have seen the benni, hope you haven't saw me there, giving brochures, talking with spec, features, selling etc. well the pric for A/T is a bit too high actually 495K. well thats an introductory price. so after the MIAS well be acess the feedback of the price and work on it. actualy for buyers until tomorow, they will b given some discounts, with standard freebies of free tint, floor mattings seat covers.

for the info also, cherry was disposing ther QQ3 model thats why they are giving a no down payment, but with 12% anual fee. thats heavy indeed. they are disposing it because they are bringing in the A1 with 458K introductoty price. like benni it also has airbag, abs, power window, powe steering, cntral locking, aluminum wheels and a 1.3 liter engine. plus others to mention.

and some said no one will buy!!!!! i am very sorry my dear, we already have 3 buyers of benni and 2 in other products. you can ask that to our sales.
