just went to the cherry showroom last saturday. i was politely accommodated by their salesman-noel. he said that the QQ will be priced at 320k for the base model. the car isnt really that shabby...its quality is probably at par with the alto we saw earlier this year. but i guess that the alto engine would be better since orig japan DAW....they will have test driving available within the week i guess...impression of the car was not too bad...quality isnt too shabby but certainly isnt very good as compared to the koreans. cheap plastics everywhere. the good thing is that it has 4 power windows available already. i hope this is also available for the 800cc variant. overall, its not too bad...hindi naman mahal eh...but certainly isnt CHEAP. i feel that the price of the car should sit around 250k for the base model. like the alto,it certainly is a bit overprized. they also mentioned that they will eventually have a plant here in the RP,like some china bikes do. thats great since it means more jobs. cherry is a welcome addition. something to keep the competition going para mawala na monopoly ng car indistry by the big 3. something is definitely wrong hehehe.

i wont judge the car yet base on it's exteriors and plastics...but i certainly aint overly optimistic with it...ill just wait and see na lang...see if they can stand the test of time :D

i dont like the feel of the steering wheel though...gusto ko palitan. kakainis.

i saw nga pala a blue Alto in UP Diliman yesterday (drove there to eat isaw.....)

it's cute pala! doesn't look too budget-y from a distance. pero the Chery QQ 1.1L power-everything just undercuts the Alto by a tiny bit. Of course the quality is a question mark.

Here's a good comparo: make a Chery QQ 1.1L and a Suzuki Alto (same price) collide head-on at 40km/h each to simulate an 80km/h collision. And see which one gets out better.

Sir, have you seen the black interior? Much better no?!

I went there last Saturday. I asked the agent for a test drive (me and my brother). Sana the base price will be at around 250K nalang... Some people said its being sold in China for less than 200K.

We are also eyeing for a 2nd Hand 2005 Hyundai Getz w/ 8K on the clock.

Actually oligopoly ng CAMPI (Japanese, Korean, American) members dito sa Pinas....Its a bit of good news na sana nga magtayo Chery-Iseway ng planta dito to bring down the costs further...sana din lang assembly of chery but parts and car production talaga....

OT ito, pero China is definitely challenging the economic power of her...."natural enemies" Korea and japan (chery, geely, shanghai motors, nanjing motors, lifan etc vs korean, japanese vehicles).......it seems nangiging battleground na Pinas sa Asia......

We should take advantage of this situation for our own benefit...

so far daw madami na nakapag pareserve

But the Cherey should provide good competition in the local market. But IMO, I'd shy away from this new player, maybe give them another 5-10 years to improve their quality.

OT... may dating din yung Alto but maybe because bago siya sa market kaya kakaiba tignan.

Clutches are too light, and all key inserts have ring lamps, but as always, they were never test driven yet. Go see for yourselves. One warning: if you actually go there, check if they replaced the side signal lamps, the one on the front fenders, on the Cowin and the QQ. Some, well, most of them were either cracked or broken loose, the kind you see when a bike sideswipes a car.
I've noticed cracked lights on a lot of Chinese vehicles (on the road)... seems medyo hard and brittle ang plastic covers ng lights nila. That's something to improve in the future.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

It's the same case for China scooters. The lens also gets cloudy easily (it loses its transparency).

The Koreans' early teething problems with taillights were more related to the tailights taking on water. Hyundai even had ads proclaiming that they have solved the problem on newer generation cars. hehehe.

Sana sa brand new na cherry QQ eh less pain in the head . Ilang years daw ba ang warranty nila?

since i saw both the alto and the qq3,i think i can make a comparison on what i saw...
i noticed blemishes on the paint of both vehicles...both salesmen in the showroom vouched that these were only sample units and that the actual units would be a much more polished product. workmanship was the same.both have cheapipay parts here and there. but should i complaint for the price were getting it for? napansin ko sa alto is yun windsheild weather strip nagagalaw ko hehehe i dont really like it...it reeks of cheap workmanship. and there are over spray under the hood and glue seams din. the qq,so far. typical of most china brands, dami bells and whistles...umiilaw yun saksakan ng keys(wow!) tsaka madami pa cute na features..ewan ko lang kung tatagal...

now...if the price for the base alto and the base qq are the same, lets say 320k, id go for the alto, bec the engine was japan imported DAW. and of course, the alto is japanese engineered. malalaman na lang natin yan sa test drive at after 1 year kung sino sa kanila olats at sino panalo

napansin ko yun lpg car nila kailangan mo i depress yun kambyo bago ka mag shift...ok na pautot ito lalo na pag lagi kang may sakay na chicks na lasing o batang makulit. cowin ba yun tawag dun? so far yun mga cars nila somewhere in between the workmanship of a korean car and "something else"...

Among all the Cherys sold in the Philippines, this is the genuine Chinese car. It’s the oldest in the line-up, so expect the crudest experience here: doors that aren’t aligned, a hatch that requires two people to close, and interior trimmings that fall off—it’s a car that feels a decade old even before it left the showroom. It’s oddly shaped too. There’s an LPG tank fitted at the back, so this car’s perhaps catered for the taxi crowd. And in that sense, you can’t deny its fleet value here.

this is the original car? if they are talking about the design, well, it is based on the Seat Toledo, di pa rin orig.

Italy's Fiat has signed a joint venture with Chery Automobiles of China to produce cars for the Chinese market.

The pair are set to start production at a plant in Wuhu, Anhui province in 2009 and expect to turn out around 175,000 Fiat and Alfa Romeo cars a year.

No financial details of the agreement were revealed.

The news comes a day after Fiat said it would buy 100,000 engines a year from Chery as part of a push to boost ties with the lucrative Chinese market.

While Fiat said the deal would mark an historical step into "the world's fastest growing automotive market", Chery said the move would make its own brand more competitive worldwide.

The Italian firm has been struggling to turnaround its fortunes in the Chinese market where it currently operates six joint ventures.

Its operation with Nanjing Automobile Corp remains a loss maker and Fiat's sales are lagging behind its target of selling 300,000 vehicles in China by 2010. By June 2006 sales stood at just 31,300.

    Ive turned myself around...

I'd rather drive a 1970 Mercedes Benz W123 Diesel... That way, I am rest assured that everything is on it. Safety, Economy, Amenities, and power features plus a bonus of prestige. Most of all, ever reliable than a Toyota.

Hey, I can also get a second hand 1970 S-Class for that price!

Eto inihahayag talaga nila.

Well, for Chinese consumption kasi malamang un product.
