just got back from their dealer sa makati. to be honest the cars don't seem too bad, at least from the showroom floor. doors and switches feel good, the seats are comfy too. the shifters don't feel right though, very loose movement. and the panel gaps are HUGE. the real test will be whether or not they can stand the abuse of time.

a proper test drive is in order...

    Guys,

Lets give proper feedbacks sa Chery QQ. Im sure marami dito very tempted to buy. Dalawa na kami ni Proxies interested. Hope we could discuss the short comings and not bash it all away like its "poorly copied, ugly, panget, walang originality". Okay na! Tama na!

Lets move on. Those who wanted to test drive it, please give proper feedback and pointers to people who wants to dare buying one.

I'm not bashing it when I say it's poorly made, indifferent build quality, cheap materials, etc. That's just the way it is. I don't get paid by car companies and they have no say on how I review vehicles. Yes, it's leagues better than a jeepney, but it's far from even a Hyundai Pony (do you even remember that car?). Hehehe.

A proper test drive is really in order, but I wouldn't get one just on the basis of build quality alone. Build quality, btw, is different from reliability or long term quality (those are still up in the air). But how crappy the build quality is, is pretty apparent. Just try slamming the door. Look at how large the panel gaps are, touch the Orocan interior plastics.

But hey, its a free market. Buy one if you really like it. But don't say the people here didn't warn you. As with any consumer good, it's always buyers beware.

In the meantime, I'd rather stick to driving my 30 year old beater.

Some of their cars have really bad quality. The QQ's doors need effort in closing the doors. I agree with the seats, its plush. The dials of the aircon feels loose like there is not much effort to feel that its solid.

I believe the QQ is better in safety than the Suzuki Carry that is priced at P350,000. The QQ's interior plastics feel cheap and you can really see the gap if you look at the biege color.

After a year will prove the reliability. Theres is no 2nd car in the market that can go 25 km/l with Euro IV compliant and a bonus of ABS and EBD. Makes me feel at peace with Greenpeace nerds.

Sana naman, sa mga owners dito. Please feel free to visit this thread and post. Your feedbacks will be appreciated. Wag nyo na isipin yung mga posts dito who are discriminating your car of choice. Iba dito safety talk ang issue tapos naninigarilyo pala. We all have our beliefs, and safety isnt my top priority. I die, I die. May pagpipili-an ka ba? Even the safest car is not the safest, may fungi, protozoan, algae etc etc yang kotse mo...

Peace! I respect your priority of safety please respect mine. My belief is that 80% of safety comes from you.

when did everyone start? di ba sa kopya? God made light... There was light. Man made the lamp for us to see in the night... And there was light. Everything revolves around with a copy. A kid wont draw his own drawings without the aid of something solid... Kopya pa yan ang mga chinese... Sooner or later, they will change the design... Parang CD-R King, may parang iPod na imitation, after that, meron na silang sariling designs na Mp3 player.

Well, you are free to correct me if im wrong...

My advice to those interested in buying is to wait at least a year before purchasing.

Yes boss drey you are wrong what they did is a blatant copying of other car manufacturers design. Other car manufacturers put a considerable investment in those designs and they cut cost by copying them.

Imagine this I droll everytime I see gen III.V Paj on the road then all of the sudden a lookalike pass by... Deym my dream SUV got pirated!

I remember the time the government imported buses from China. Halos lahat ata ng bus companies na kumuha, nagmumura nun kasi none of those buses are reportedly plying MM streets nowadays. Sirain daw, unlike the Jap and locally assembled buses

Hopefully, medyo umangat na ang QA ng China from that time.

Marama nang King Long and Golden Dragon buses ngayon plying the provincial routes. These buses are ubiquitous in China and I think the quality is quite good.

However -- they have Mitsubishi licensed engine designs.

Some of the Chinese know to respect intellectual property. And, interestingly enough, their products aren't that cheap! but at least they have better quality.

I don't think with this build quality Chery will have much traction. 300K for a car is still 300K. And with such amazing misfeatures as doors that don't shut on the first try...

As for those who argue about scooters.. yes this is the equivalent of the China scooter, applied to cars. But China scooters are cheap. This is 300K. Heck if I had 300K I'd buy an E36 BMW! or apply it as a 50% downpayment on a Honda City.

this is OT but i'd just like to point out:

re:E36 BMW, i wonder how much maintenance will cost, not to mention gas consumption, and insurance and registration costs. i wonder how the cost for a BMW tune up compares with a chery.

re: 50% d/p on honda city, you'd still have to pay for monthly amortization. with the chery, that's cash. besides, i honestly think that chery's target market will not pay for the car in cash (as in 300K). they'd probably pay for d/p (60K?) and then amortize the rest. they might even loan the money for the d/p and then amortize the rest. that's a lot of loans yes, but heck they now have got a brand new car to show for.

incidentally, my friend imports scooters from china directly. yes, they are cheap. but guess what? the build quality is really really good.
