Are Cobra and Venom alarms made by the same company? I noticed that their prices and features are the same.

Yung Police na without actuators Php2,100 dati. Mga Php3,500 lahat kung alarm plus actuators (5pcs kasi pang-hatchback yung kinuha ko).

thanks very much sir otep, should i really insist with the Police brand? bibisita na ko this week. saka para saan ba yun air horn? same ba ito with the frog horn na sinasabi nila? para sa alarm din ba ito o para sa busina? ok ba na mgpakabit ako nito?

Air horn is a replacement for your original car horn (the one you activate by pressing the steering wheel). Yes, it's like a fog horn. I don't really like air horns because it requires plumbing for air which can get pretty unreliable over time in some cases. But if you're up for a little extra maintenance every now and then, air horns are really loud.

I'm not really saying you should insist on Police, but among the lower-end brands, Police is a good value for money deal.

as always ang bilis ng reply niyo sir otep, im on my way to Jeff's today balitaan ko po kayo kung ano ang napakabit ko o kaya naman kung anong mangyari. i guess di ko kelangan yun air horn...more than enough na yun stock horn ko, im not using it anyway hindi naman ako yun tipo ng driver na addict sa busina. i only use it when it is really needed and not due to impulse or habit.

meron na kong car alarm pero hindi police nakuha ko out of stock daw, di ko alam kung okay yun nakuha ko na venom, pinagpilian ko yun sub zero saka venom, I end with the venom parehong pareho lang naman sila ng features ewan ko kung bakit yun ang ni-recommend sakin ni Jeff siguro gusto lang niyang ma-dispose...hehehe

pero okay lang pinapalitan ko na lang yun trompa niya from the stock 6 tones to single tone lang, hindi ko alam kung sa trompa nga yun tones o sa mismong unit ng car alarm.

mukhang okay naman from the actuators to the car alarm system itself. ganun ba talaga yun kapag may dumadaan na motor na may malaking tambutso tutunog kaagad? kapag binabaan ko naman yun sensitivity kapag sinandalaan ko yun kotse ayaw tumunog eh. my main purpose in installing an alarm system eh wag sandalan o kaya upuan yun kotse ko kasi tadtad na ng dent and scratches dahil sa mga hinayupak na tambay dito sa amin.

bakit parang di abot ng sensor yun bandang trunk ng kotse? kasi kahit kalabugin ko ayaw tumunog? yun sensor nakakabit sa ilalim ng dashboard malapit sa pinto. wala na kasing space na pwedeng pagdikitan na bare metal talaga ng kaha ng kotse mas okay sana dun.

Venom ang pinakabit ko sa Vitara. Roughly the same cost as Police. Ang hindi ko gusto sa kanya ay yung lock/unlock sound niya ay katunog ng wang-wang ng mga tricycle at jeepney. Other than that ok naman. Pwede ka bumili ng ibang siren kung hindi ka din satisfied sa sound. Two wires lang naman kailangan mo i-connect.

Yung sensitivity niyan ay may screw adjustment. Check your manual. Dinikit namin yung shock sensor sa may bandang left foot ng driver. May bare metal kasi doon. Hope that helps. Kaso, kailangan nga medyo sensitive system mo para makadetect ng sumasandal. After all, it was designed to prevent theft, not prevent tambays.

sir otep, regarding sa autopage mo, hindi na ba necessary to install remote trunk open which is one of the feature of this system. tnx

bos otep, tanong ko lang, just in case hindi na kaya palitan iyong decade old remote commanders ng code alarm ko ng winterpine (ok pa naman iyong unit itself) tapos replace ko nang panibagong affordable na basic alarm system, adviseable ba na hindi na palitan iyong old wiring system? or kailangan palit lahat para sulit naman ang bayad?

Sir pasensya na po, sa wagon po kasi nakalagay yung Autopage dati. Meaning sumasabay yung tailgate mag-unlock with the other doors. So no need for a separate trunk opener.

Sir talagang yung bagong wires na kasama ng bagong alarm ang gagamitin. It will just be tapped onto the areas of the OEM wiring harness where the old alarm was tapped into. Lahat naman po ng taps ay reachable from underneath the dash kaya madali lang gawin. Yung siren lang ang medyo malayo ang tinatakbo.

paano kaya ito? sira na ung remote (ung pindutan) ng alarm ko. CODE ALARM ung brand ng alarm ko. saan kaya puedeng bumili ng pinaka-remote lang. but the problem is unique ang bawat remote. meaning hindi mabubuksan ng isang remote and isang car even though pareho lang ng brand and model ung alarm..

CODE is handled by Winterpine. They should be able to provide you with a new remote.

Making a duplicate alarm is pretty easy as I witnessed when they code-grabbed my former Autopage alarm using the same code grabber used by thieves.
