I drive for several hours a day, and my SJ4000 doesn't heat up. Yes, I have the LCD turned off when recording. Di ko naman titingnan yun while driving, distraction lang.

Probably I had the LCD turned on the whole time kaya uminit. Agree, distracting nga.
