per sa mga nababasa ko na ibang thread, a number of people report that 3m BC (magic) tint causes interference sa kanilang gps or mobile signal.

HP Quantum sir, yung 2nd pinaka madilim, then osram night breaker plus.

Glonass eh Russian GPS. While GPS eh US. GPS ginagamit ko kasi mas madami daw satellite ng GPS. Mga less than 30 seconds may signal na GPS ko.

Tsk tsk confirmed for me na hindi gps signal friendly ang 3m magic tint

We just tested the unit now pinahawakan ko sa tapat ng bintana na naka bukas naka kuha agad ng GPS lock in less than 30 seconds.

Nung pinasok ulit sa loob at binalik sa windshield nawala yung lock within 5 seconds and hindi na naka recover.

After 1 year of use, my SJ4000's battery gave up on me:

The camera itself still works. Will connect it directly to AC power to still serve its function as a dashcam. Will also buy a new battery in case I wanna use it as an action cam, but won't put it in the camera anymore when I use it as a dashcam.

I think it's really inevitable that the battery will bloat when exposed to direct sunlight in a hot cabin all day. Since the battery has bloated, I had to remove the front housing of the SJ4000 as well as the screws of the circuit board to be able to pry out the battery.

On another note, does anyone have an idea how I can attach a dashcam onto my Mazda? This is how the rearview mirror and housing of the auto-light and rain sensor looks like:

There are 2 main problems in that layout:

    1. The stalk of the rearview mirror is too short. I can't do what I did with my Toyota wherein I used a bike mount to latch it on the stalk, like this:

    2. The housing for the rain/light sensor is big enough to hold my suction cup, but it's a rough surface, so the suction cup cannot grip onto it. I've also tried using double sided tape as well as packaging tape, but both don't stick either.

Since I don't wanna damage my tint by using a suction cup directly on the windshield, I'm still unable to mount a dashcam on my Mazda. I'd be grateful to hear any ideas. [emoji4]

^What kind of double sided tape did you use? You can try using 3M VHB double sided tape like this:

I've used this on the matte plastic of the City's console. Just make sure you clean the surface with alcohol before applying the tape.

Used 3M automotive tape (looks like that too), doesn't stick at all.

gumagana naman as dashcam even without battery no? pero yung settings ba nareretain kapag walang battery? i mean, yung date/time, exposure, plate number, etc?

pareho tayo ng problem dun sa stalk ng rear view mirror. di ko rin magamit kahit anong mount kasi masyado maikli or nakabend yung stalk. kahit yung mga industrial tape ng 3m hindi mo rin madikit kapag rough surface yung pag-gamitin. you can smoothen it siguro using sandpaper. pero ako suction cup gamit ko, wala naman issue sa tint.

halata ba na iba yung tint sa labas. no choice talaga no? unless whole windshield papalitan mo ng tint.

[emoji1] halatang halata sa labas bro hahaha. Parang magkakaroon ng black hole ang dating

Pero it is a compromise na tinanggap ko na kasi mas gusto ko retain yung magic tint sa majority ng windshield.

Rough surface. 3M adhesive doesn't stick at all. [emoji20]

yep also tried it before. pag naarawan na, mahuhulog. suggestion sa akin is to sand the back of the rear view mirror kung saan ididikit yung mount.kaya lang ayoko hehe
