April 19th, 2012 03:21 AM #1My new car just got an accident, almost 3 weeks old and 1000km ODO. can I request new replacement? The other driver admits his mistake and willing to pay the damages. Transfer documents (LTO papers) not yet released and on process. Insurance company estimated the damage amounting to more than 400K. Can I get a fair chance of new car replacement.

read your policy.. some insurance requires the damages to be over 70% of the car's current value para ma declare na total loss.. otherwise.. repair lang yan..

Kapag declared na total loss ba replace unit?
Diba bigay lang sayo cash? Which is definitely mas mababa than the SRP of a new unit because of depreciation?

April 19th, 2012 12:18 PM #6Kung ang amount ng repair is 75% of the insured amount or if the engine is dead, total loss na yung car. Babayaran ng insurance sa iyo ang car using the existing "Fair Market Value". So probably di mo makuha ng full amount ng brand new... Tapos sisingilin ng insurance yung nakabangga sa yo.
