Back in the early 20th Century, Ernest Rutherford, who discovered the electron, and was one of the leading thinkers on subatomic particles then, described as "moonshine" the ongoing talk of extracting power from the atom. Well, less than 35 years later, the 1st nuclear reactor was invented by Enrico Fermi and his team at the University of Chicago.

My point is, the concept of a "water-powered" car may seem insane now, but another 50 years down the road, it may well become a reality.

Petroleum companies like Exxon Mobil and Royal Dutch Shell may well be bankrupt then.

Salen-Ga, a Filipino, discovered that the electron is actually positive...

50 years from now, it will still be a perpetual motion device, and it will still be just as impossible. Please: Learn physics and chemistry, then you'll see just how stupid a device this is.

You don't have the teach me anything. I know my physics and chemistry. But apparently, you don't know the nuances of sentence construction. The word water-powered was enclosed in quotes precisely to highlight the hyperbole. I've been reading Discover, Popular Mechanics and Popular Science since I was 15, and I got good grades in said subjects from good schools (QC Science and UP). And unless you have an IQ higher than 160 (which is my IQ), you better shut up. The nerve!

Sorry mods, I don't want to start a war here, but my feathers got ruffled.

    OT: With good reason.

You would be surprised at how many native English speakers, such as Americans, are careless with their spelling and grammatical construction. Same thing with us Filipinos; hindi lahat ng Pilipino ay marunong ng tamang paggamit ng ating sariling wika.

Galactus and ///MPower, konting lamig lang po ng ulo.

    Woosahhhh.... :police:

Actually, it will not be "water-powered" per se... but there are talks & research on new energy sources.

Still, there are still no working prototypes yet of any kind of these "new age" energy sources so don't get your hopes up yet. As pointed out by Galactus, some propose that in the future a "personal" energy source will be used by all (including for vehicles) which will eliminate the need for gigantic electrical power plants & distribution grids.

Sorry, were you being sarcastic in your first post? I didn't catch it. Nevertheless, I didn't mean to insult you, just point out the fact that any "water-powered" device is one also capable of perpetual motion. If we do manage to bend the laws of physics and thermodynamics, then perhaps this will become possible. Otherwise this is, and always will be, a fantasy.

I had this theory before about Dingle's car. Although, in retrospect, Dingle isn't smart enough to implement my theory.

Companies such as Mercedes-Benz in Germany have developed hydrogen-powered buses in which the hydrogen is stored in a finely-divided metallic matrix. This is due to the fact that certain (expensive) metals "attract" hydrogen to their surface, and can store a huge amount of hydrogen.

Basically you have a sort of radiator-like matrix, force hydrogen into it over a period of time, and a whole lot of hydrogen will "bond" to the metal. Enough to power a bus.

How to extract this hydrogen? heat the metal. A simple resistive heater will do the trick. My theory was that Dingle's battery was such a fuel cell. So the hydrogen was pre-stored in the battery, and a nominal energy input, in the form of heat, used to release the stored hydrogen.

To the un-initiated, it would look exactly like vigorous electrolysis.

anyway, let's not forget that not all of those who are good in English have good IQ's than anybody else. kasi bakit ang galing-galing ng mga Koreano, Hapon saka Chinese pero hindi marunong mag-English yun

    anyway, OT na po hehehe
