    Wow 5th generation?

When I was a kid some more than 30 years ago, I could still remember my father and Mr. Planas arguing about this air bleed device and I could still remember Mr. Planas garage at Bo. Onse, San Juan City.

My father yielded to have our passenger jeepneys (wala pang diesel jeepney noon) installed with this gas saver device but eventually my father removed them and that was the last time I saw these device.

More than 30 years of debates..amazing

No takers yet for the condition-controlled dynamometer test for fuel consumption?

I promise, I'll pay for the popcorn.

Obviously since you would be one of the Khaos "investors" so everyone else would be considered your representative.

That's because you guys can never produce proper proof that your gadget works as you claim.

    2002 up to now... ANO?

Again, if you want an impartial test:

I've been to your booths and promotional events. I even have pictures posted of the event to prove I was there.

Admit it, you guys are itching for someone to announce "my name is GhostHunter" at your event.

If you PR guys have gone out and did PROPER testing (that proves the KSTC gadget works as claimed) in the first place, then we wouldn't be having this discussion, would we?

Yet after 7 years of discussion on the internet and the claimed decades of "R&D" done to the product, it has yet to prove beyond doubt that it can do it's claimed functions.

Unsupervised "tests" are just as good as TESTIMONIALS.

    Hehe. Banned soon?

Another question, I've been reading about troubleshooting engines using a vacuum gauge. So, If I install Khaos, it'll mess up my vacuum gauge readings?

No... it means you have installed a "vacuum leak" costing P6,500.

    That's actually a good question.

A vacuum leak at idle (which is what the Khaos is meant to do) will cause low readings on the vacuum gauge, poor idling and poor IACV function, if the leak is big enough.

On older carbureted cars, the slight leaning out would cause the car to idle higher if it was running too rich at idle (new cars don't... some cars nowadays run from 16:1 to a crazy 22:1 at idle, as opposed to some old cars which ran at 10:1 or 12:1... so they will probably idle rough.

A mechanic will be able to cure this roughness temporarily by adjusting the idle control screw higher, but without knowing the proper technique to lock the car in diagnostic mode, the idle will readjust itself after an hour or so... so it will still run poorly.

Buhay pa pala itong debate na ito? Parang more than five years na ang discussion re: Khaos.

Science is simply not on the Khaos, or any air bleed devices' side, a Google search for "air bleed device" turns up numerous sites explaining why the principle is flawed.

There are still many adherents though, convinced that the Khaos works. I was invited by a relative of Planas once to attend a demonstration. I respectfully declined, for one thing, I'm no longer into debates about Khaos, and moved on to other things. Secondly, no demonstration of any sort can change the laws of physics. Internal combustion engines have been thoroughly developed and refined over more than a hundred years, and the physics and chemistry of gasoline ignition have been studied just as long.

If you believe it saves fuel, go ahead a buy it. It's your money, and no one can tell you how you should spend your own hard earned money.

If you're thinking of having one installed, research muna kayo. I think the wealth of information on the internet or any other scientific reference is overly against the claims of air bleed devices, but then again it's up to you.

If you already have it installed and you think it works, keep it.

If you already have it installed and you think its ruining your engine, take it off. To be honest, most, if not all of the people I know who have had it installed took it off eventually. Virtually all of them had EFI engines. The few ones I know who kept their Khaoses use 90's era cars with carburetors.

A common story goes something like this, among friends and officemates who tried it. A neglected or semi-neglected car gets bad mileage and the owner opts to have a Khaos installed to improve the mileage. The typical recommendation is to tune up the engine first before the Khaos is installed...change the plugs, adjust timing, etc. It makes sense even to someone not technically inclined, make sure the engine's ok before installing any accessory. All of a sudden you have better fuel consumption, though this is usually because of the tune up, and not necessarily by the Khaos.
