Dito sa Pnas, once you go diesel, why buy a gas vehicle anymore,

I think the cars on the roads today are predominantly diesel with trucksm pickups, vans, auvs, ppvs.

Early in this decade, used diesel cars have higher resale value, now used crosswinds, adventures are in the 200k price, while vans and pickups are in the 400k-500k range. A previous gen everest has like 350k on the used market, and that's crdi.

For me, to venture into a gasoline car, lalo na yun malaki kaha is just throwing your hard earned money . How long do you save for a car. 5 years, 7 years. Then 3 years lang if you buy a gasoline big car, wala ng halaga pinag-ipunan mo.

In case you wonder, why make still make 'em? Civics, crvs, rav4, mazda3s etc. simple answer: it's for the American market. Gasoline is cheaper there than diesel.

Why do car manufacturers here still force to sell to us? Honestlym i dont know. The likes of Mazda, Subaru are like living in a different dimension. Wala yata market study eto mga to.

The rav4 having no stock means that Toyota is aware that it's not going to sell in quantity.

North America is a big market for auto manufacturers. If you can't sell there, you'll surely lose a big chunk of sales. A lot of market study is done in the US and Europe as they drive the automotive market.

I frequent the Ford Groups in the US coz I have the Eddie Bauer. Inggit na inggit sila sa Everest and Ranger. When news of the Ranger that it iwll be brought to America, sobrang excited, take note these people I group with are the hillbillies or red necks of rural countryside mountain America . most of these bunch never heard of the Philippines or Asean before and yet now they envy us for getting the great cars. They're also excited with diesel coz they carry a lot of loads in their work nature,

Go with the diesels if choosing Korean. If petrol, I'd go with other CUVs like Forester, CX5, or Xtrail.

I have the Santa Fe diesel. I'll only buy a Hyundai if it's diesel. It's 8-9km / L Fzc city, I only use Shell Helix HX7 regular diesel oil. So cheap to maintain.

You'll never go wrong with a Hyundai crdi. Expertise nila, my only beef with the Tucson today. It's dated design, no touchscreen, no sensors, not even electronic seats, for the same price, I can a MUx 3.0 or Montero GLS Premium.

And being an owner of a 11-year okd Santa Fe, mahina ang pang-ilalim ng SF why coz it's a crossover so soft ssuspension evwn though it uses the same multilink system at the back like the PPVS.

Pero mura lang hyundai suspension parts, for 10k back to new na ang feel ng suspension.

Also go for Wheels E. rod, they give great deals maybe bec of their proximity sa Banawe and also because there are like 4 shops there, Kia, Suzuki, Peugeot, Hyundai. Dikit dikit sila as in you can go to next bldg with just a glass door. Maybe that's why the sales agents there are very competitive.

There are a lot of shops who can make some custom leather seat covers. Just do a web search on the nearest one to your place.

Gas engines with 2.0L displacement or above are not advisable as they are not efficient. Go for diesel if the engine is 2.0 or higher.

That being said, the only gas engine SUV/CUV recommended are the BRV, HRV, Ecosport, Avanza etc. Personally im doing around 9km/l with my BRV.

Different strokes for different folks. CUVs offer a more car-like ride for something bigger than a compact car but with better ground clearance and a useful cargo area. I prefer CUVs over PPVs or those small crossovers you listed. I average around 6 km/L (city driving) on my Forester XT which is a good deal of sorts when other lower-output gas CUVs do something like 7 km/L. I guess the most efficient petrol CUV right now is the CX5 SkyActiv which is as efficient as compact cars, as per inputs from owners here in Tsikot.

On a different note, how much does Hyundai sell the Tucson CRDi nowadays? A few weeks back they were some Hyundai ads offering like a 100k discount on selected Hyundai models.

Went to Hyundai yesterday. Will probably get the GLS instead of the base model, sobrang bare talaga yung base model. I think worth it naman yung additional na 200k. So that's P1.4M for diesel GLS with discount. Will just have to get leather seats and the TV.

yan problemo ng mga 2.0 CUVS, at that displacement gas guzzler na sila averaging 5-6km/liter. My Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer has the V6 engine, 4-5km/liter city. 1km lang lamang ng CUV. at least i'm driving a bigger car pa, kaya di ko na binenta to eh hehe

so in my view, walang kwenta bumile ng CUV dito sa Pinas whether skyactiv, or econ or ecoboost. almost all those gasoline engine suffer sa FC pag nasabak sa stop and go jeepney lol

Q4 last year, we are contemplating on CX5, Rav4 and Tucson. we ended up with Rav4 bec my wife really likes how it looked.
cx5 base model was 70k discount, rav4 base model was 10k discount, tucson was 100k discount. we always acquire via paying cash. (iniikot lang pera from other sources of money, company sponsor, etc)
then we experienced how "hungry" it was on gasoline. so Jan of this year, we "returned" it to office.
we need to get a replacement and this time wife do not want the rav4 anymore due to gas guzzler.
i asked her to test drive everest, she liked the handling of the steering. (we have montero and fortuner, nahihirapan siya drive both sa steering)
we ended up with tucson crdi and then just got it last monday. it was just GL crdi, added the 10in android, tv plus Audio/video/navigation (AVN) w/ rear camera and foglights bec of good offer.
then i do not need to change the horns kasi fiamm na pala yung stock ng tucson. all our cars have fiamm horns para isang tunog lang pag papabuksan gate sa bahay. hehehe.
then i got some cruise control and audio switches for the steering, and the drive mode (eco, sport, norma) switch and DIY installed it...
next in line is yung aircon vent for the second row seats.

this saturday, we'll get the BR-V naman for my parents. they wanted something "big" na hindi mataas kagaya ng mga PPVs and not to low like HRV, Mobilio, Altis, Civic. plus na sa kanila yung third row seats when needed but hindi naman talaga gagamitin, and another plus is yung 2nd row aircon vents..
when we did test drive, nagustuhan nila height ng BR-V over HR-V (which they find to small inside. feeling nila nakakulong).
dahil 1.5 na gasoline engine, they opted for BR-V, else diesel talaga gusto namin... now pipila na sa CRV na diesel as that is what they really want...

I doubt CRV diesel will be priced in PPV territory, dont wait for it baka ma- disappoint lang kayo, the mazda cx5 diesel is 2m. Isang malaki g kalokohan lol

Which branch ng Hyundai ito? How much did you add for the screen and TV? Pwede pala idagdag yung second row aircon vent tsaka drive modes na DIY? May difference kaya yung DIY na Eco mode? Will it really activate the Eco mode and save more diesel?

How much total upgrade mo? Did it come out cheaper than getting a GLS?

May I know ilan KM/L consumption niyo ngayon?

Sorry daming tanong. Actually yan din mga choice ko. CX5 kasi hindi nasasandal yung second row tsaka mahal battery. RAV4 laging walang model unit tsaka masikip ata second row compared sa Tucson based on specs. So Tucson GLS na plano ko kasi sobrang bare ng GL. Will still upgrade to TV though.

Yun nga android with backup camera parang napapailing.na ako. Though it's doable, kababago ng car mo, baklas lahat ng dash and interiors nun. I usually watch the assembly line of cars with robotic arms and precision tools to install those things. Then baklasin lang sa casa . That's so painful for me to watch kaya either magtiis na lang ako sa stock or just opt for other brands
