Can the second row of the Rav4 be reclined?

Pros of the Tucson is the more spacious second row. Pros of the Rav4 is resale value and better entertainment system.

Price difference is about 200k at most but this can easily be offset when the vehicle is resold. Personally Tucson talaga gusto ko pero I'm worried with the aftersales and overall car durability versus a Toyota.

This is a debate between what I want and what is more practical in the real world kahit mas mataas rating ng Tucson sa US.

No more CX5 since hindi reclinable yung second row seats plus it's more expensive.

Rav4 has no resale value. The only remaining gasoline Toyota car that has resale value is the Vios, check fB groups. Matabang na din ang used market sa corolla. Camey nga buy 1 take 1 sa fb groups.

The only CUV with higher resale value in the market is the CRV.

So given this and the ugliness of the Current Rav4. Get The Tucson. But not the gasoline but the diesel Tucson.

diesel are the only cars that keeps HARI affloat nowadays, Accent Diesel and Starex. Filipino buyers are now smart these days probably because we are progressive.

In FB groups, the old hyundai diesels have more value than the RAv4 like the Santa fe, tucson Crdi. Even the used accent crdi have higher appraisals than the gas guzzling Rav4

What budget are we looking at around here? CUVs, whatever brand it is, have low resale value. It is much like a midsize car. If you intend to sell it in the future, be ready to take a hit.

Since you considered a Tucson, you might as well check its twin, the Kia Sportage. Why not a Forester or CRV or Xtrail? The Forester, even in its base trim is loaded with features, high ground clearance, and comes standard with AWD (unlike other brands in which you pay a premium to get the AWD model).

This will be my first car if ever kaya gusto ko talaga yung design na type ko. Was supposed to wait for the CHR kaso magkakaroon na ng excise tax and the interior seems cramped. Hindi ko type design ng CRV, Sportage, Forester and Xtrail.

I plan to get the gas variant.

^^^Exterior looks is just part of a vehicle's design so you need to dig deeper into other things that make up the whole package. It's best to keep your options open and test drive your choices.

Payo ko lang if you will buy gasoline cuvs, ecosport na lang. Gasoline is now at P45 per liter. And the dollar is going up. The possibiluty of breaching thr P50 / liter price is looming.

Rav4 is bot really a popular car in the philippines, para ka na din bumili ng ng camry or mz6 dyan. More than half kagad ang valhe ng bagsak nyan the minute yoh buy it from Toyota.

Subaru is offering 200k discount on XV models. Maybe you can give it a look. The XV offers a good package compared to other small crossovers (Ecosport, HRV, CX3, Juke).

Ch-r is overhyped car that looks good bur has no use in philippine setting unless you value form over function. For me, it's comparable to the anticipation of the upcoming t86 in 2012 pero right now less and less are seen on the roads. Why? Wala naman respect factor eh, maganda lang. Sa side collision lang sa sobrsng baba ng T86 yari ulo mo lalo na kung naka-arb front bumper pa yun PPV or even a jeepney.

That goes the same with Ch-r, ambaba ng ground clearance. Try to search a photo in google with a Ch-r and Juke side by side. Not much difference in height. The Juke btw is like 3 inch higher that a Vios.

    So pass ako dyan.

Take out the resale value factor and ask yourself what would be your key requirements for the vehicle you want. If you're not buying a Vios or City or Jazz or Innova, then forget about resale value. Civics and Corollas can't compete in resale value compared to the City or Vios. An Innova will have a resale value like the taller PPVs or even better.

Just choose what tickles your fancy and enjoy driving it.

Yep. The most expensive car is the one you didn't want but came home with anyway. Good resale will only benefit you at selling time. A car you really want does wonders for you the moment you drive it home until you sell it.

Personally i'd get the Tucson lalo if diesel. Hyundai's are not the main problem but rather the dealers. Just connect sa mga fb groups you're good to go.
A friend of mine who works in T brand told me na talong talo sila sa CRV at lalo sa Tucson dahil sa diesel variants na meron eto.

I"m too kuripot not to care about resale. Defeats the point of being very meticulous about my investments then suddenly not care that a car will sell for more than 100k less than my other options.

But then again, thats because I don't keep my cars very long. If you keep your car for more than 5 years, the prices sort of even out and the difference is more or less around 50-100k only.

It's not a dealbreaker, but if there are people who base their decisions on whether the car has rear drums or discs, I think resale value is also a worthy consideration.

I agree resale is important too bro, but to me it ranks a bit lower than other factors. When we got our GS we knew it was going to sell for a lot less than an SG come reselling time. Despite having the same acquisition cost. But the better comfort and refinement it has provided us through the years to me is worth the hit in residuals.

Would be great if the car we liked out of the choices also happened to have the best resale value. I think I read somewhere that in Indonesia, there was a time when the (older) Innova didn't depreciate in value. How awesome is that?

These old 90s icons are a dying breed RAV4, CRV, Corolla, Civic, Lancer.
Parang sa pangalan na lang kumbakit binebenta pa ng mas mahal.

If you are a millennial who did not even witness the successes of these brands some 10-20 years ago, you would wonder why they are being sold higher eh size lang naman pinagkaiba sa vios, city, hrv, ecosport, mirage.

Given that trick of the mind, i doubt if you will even consider puuting these car models in your list anymore,

A Corolla Altis or Civic are much better fitted than a Vios or City. The same way a CRV/Escape is over an HRV/BRV/Ecosport. Please take note that the ASEAN market is a small one compared to North America where the small cars don't get much sales compared to compacts, CUVs, and midsize cars.

We have better cars now here than the americans. The PPV lineup is something that they dont have. The Fil-Ams would be envious if they know how advanced our PPVS now are.
And considering the Situation in the Philippines, stop and go traffic. And these PPVs are able to hold up, we can say that we now have the most dursble cars,

So those cars that they still consdier good for America, we Filipinos dont care anymore, it's like buying brands like Texas Instruments, radioshack, blacberry, na meron naman mas murang counterpart dito and still reliable,
