lalo ngayon coz of subprime auto lending

    anyone can buy a car
Wala naman sila dapat ipagmalaki lalo na sa auto. Barkada ko bumili ng top of the line BMW 7 series sa US.

O, ayan, proper capitalization and use of punctuation marks.

No offense to others. Genuinely curious lang. What can you say about American cars? i.e. Explorer and the rumoured all new Everest? Do think it is worth the price considering maintenance and operating costs to be used as a daily driver?

Please only reply what is related to Philippine setting and the models available locally. It is totally different from maintenance and unit cost in the US.

uhm, let me put it this way...tutal nabanggit na din ang Philippine setting, i am working here now abroad (KSA) and recently got my 2nd car. oo different nga ang presyo mapa-maintenance at unit cost mismo, pero that way i can say via comparison kung ano ang overrated vehicles sa Pinas.

example...accent, yaris (vios sa Pinas), rio, and all other subcompacts on its category ay halos parehas ang base price dito, pero pagdating sa atin isa dyan ay OA sa presyo. maybe dahil na din sa supply and demand at mga marketing strategy kaya tumataas at nagiging overrated ang binebenta.

btw, mura dito kasi walang tax, and for sure mahihirapan akong bumili ng kotse sa atin..

The Everest is basically a Thai-made SUV. So it's not really "American". Not really any different from others of the same kind. The old one was basically a Mazda B-series with seven seats.

The Explorer... truly American... and that extends to the spare parts and their availability. Good luck finding them outside the casa. If you're buying brand new and trading later on, okay. If you intend to keep it long term, not as good a proposition, I guess, as the Eve.

Thanks. If and when we buy a car we usually keep it for 10 years. That is why operating and maintenance costs are always a factor. We also don't buy a garage queen. It is always used almost daily. Looks like Japanese is still the best bet for us.

In that case, the Eve is not bad. I know a lot of owners still holding on to their old Eves. The TDCI is a sturdy and reliable engine with fewer quirks than some of the Japanese. The AT is the better bet, because Ford uses dual-mass flywheels, which cost a bit to replace, on their manual diesels.

Then again, it's not for everyone. And some parts (outside the casa) will require trips to MazFord in Banawe.

I was very excited about VW coming back in the country. Now, with their lineup and proposed pricing, they might just be too overrated.

Let's see if the all new Eve will perform well. I like the looks posted on the other thread. A little rugged, looks big and if the wading depth is the same as the ranger, it will be good for us.

I was also excited in the return of the VW. But the pricing is a little too much in my opinion. Another candidate to be an overrated brand?

if the real 86 handles the same at playing it in gt5, then heck, that car is not overrated. that car is one of my high mileage cars amidst italian supercars and exotic ones. it handles better than the s2000, at least on the game it was

Lets see if VW will perform well on its target market..I think its positioned in the middle of the typical Japanese/korean cars and the premiere german brands.

In real life, the Toyota version doesn't have much grip, which means you can wash out into understeer and oversteer a bit too easily.

Can't beat the price, though. All it needs is better tires and perhaps a little suspension work to make it perfect.

i don't think they're overrated, their pricing is actually pretty cheap. my brother got a 3008 and i was surprised at how well it performed and how good the FC was. the only overpriced car they're selling is the RCZ, for the price and the performance you get i'd rather get something else.

The problem with the RCZ is the Cooper S Sport starts at a much lower price. For RCZ money, you can almost get a JCW variant. Or get the MINI Coupe or Roadster, which are faster and just as ***y. Well... the Roadster... the Coupe's ridiculous reverse baseball cap roof is still ridiculous.

or a mustang gt which is only 100k more expensive or the STi which is 250k cheaper, both cars will out perform the rcz in all ascpects. heck even a gt86/brz is the better choice in terms of performance, yes the rcz's interior is better but i don't really see anything special in it or feel luxurious.

Yeah. Shame. Maybe they'll bring in the GTi cheaper than that.

    RCZ is super overpriced.

Sir Niky, when will peugeot bring the 208 GTi here?

Yan yata yung with matching namumulang VGT pa na palamuti niyang year 1986 engine platformed SUV, ang tindi naman ng turbo lag nito at humihiyaw sa akyatan

No pun intended just seconding your opinion chief....

The TOYOTA Forty 3.0 D-4D is better though overall, only in my opinion, especially the engine across revs....

The Isuzu Crosswind Sportivo is over-rated price-wise for its year 1997 jurassic and weak engine

Mahal pa nga yata ito sa Toyota Innova 2.5 D-4D, or just about the same price.

ang come-on yata ng crosswind ay ang kanyang reputasyon for longevity...
