Even the Isuzu people liked that Crosswind best. My favorite ever.
Agree. We also changed the tires to slightly wider ones (215 versus the 205 stock width) and it gave the XTO a pretty good stance.

Yep, I drive an Advie diesel once a week or so (office vehicle which i use to the sites at times) and it is much faster than the Crosswind and Revo diesel. Mas malakas nga lang sa crudo but i don't mind. Wala rin usok if you run it hard regularly.

Hmm~ Perhaps they should resurrect the XTO variant. The XTi was nice, but it isn't available anymore, and it wasn't as practical as the XTO. This does seem to be the most well balanced among them all, being lighter than the Sportivo but still having all the top end features. Back then people were also impressed with it being the first AUV with a diesel/matic option.

Hindi naman ganon ka kupad ang Crosswind. May nakakasabay kami tumatakbo sa NLEX tuwing gabi ng 130-140 na XUV dati.

Sta fe. Imho oa ang price and after sales service sucks. Punta kayo hyundai thread, dami may problem sa warranty claims. Kung tinapatan nalang sana price ng montero, fortuner, etc, baka pumasok pa sa under rated thread. Hehe

Only the Alterra and the Everest have leaf-springs.

The Alterra is too long and low for off-roading. The Everest is great off-road, but currently, 4x2 nalang ang stock. While it does have a standard LSD, there's no low-range and the rear anti-roll bar limits wheel travel, meaning you can get a wheel stuck in the air when you run out of articulation. The water-fording abilities are good, though... don't recall what the specs are, but I'd wager it's not much less than the current Ranger.

Of the Fort/MS/TB... I'd put my money on the Fort, but the Trailblazer has more ride height and apparently better approach and descent angles than the Fort. It's got more low-down punch than the D4D, and it doesn't have the uneven power delivery of the Mitsu.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Hi Niky. I think both the MS and TB pulls their max torque at 2000 rpm. While the Fort's max torque is available at 1600-2800 rpm.

The low end torque is much needed in city driving while the MS and TB gets the advantage on the highways.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    On paper, yes.

But as we've seen during road tests and on the dyno, there's a big difference between quoted power specs and actual, and how that translates to real world performance.

One of the issues with the Mitsubishi 2.5 is turbo lag and surge. The transition between no boost and lotsa-big-boost is very abrupt... which isn't great for crawling off-road. The Traiblazer has similar power specs, but it's smoother in how it makes power, and feels better off-idle because of the extra displacement.

I miss the Ford 3.0. That was basically torque, torque, torque. Want to rock crawl? Let it idle you up the mountain... Want to burn tires? Just shove both pedals to the floor and wait for the engine to overpower the rear brakes.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Hindi rin mga sirs. May mga mayayaman who can afford to buy anything but who think any car beyond 1 million is expensive and over price na. Case in point my former boss who drives an entry level altis. He says he doesn't need to validate himself with expensive cars when his purpose lang naman is to get from point a to point b. Pero may yate. Hehe. Anyway if you don't find the sta fe overrated, good for you. Let's just agree to disagree.

It all boils down to reliability. Kung kaya umabot ng ms or santa fe ng 10 yrs w/o major problems, then they're not overrated for me. I think the ms is the cheapest in its class so it can be forgiven for not being as refined as others.

It depends on how you look at the Monterosport chief Aargh, especially when speaking of plus PhP1.2 M and up for a model 1996 engine platform, 4D56, SUV.

If one is after an SUV that has responsive low-end rpm power and does not have any lag, then the Montysport is not the ideal SUV. What we see in the paper spec as 174 hp with 350 Nm is not felt at all. If you press the accelerator pedal abruptly to get to the ideal rpm (or sweet spot) it billows out smoke. In this aspect it is overrated if one is looking at it this way.

If you're for an SUV, on the other hand, that has good mid-range to top end pull, then the Montysport is one of the pick among the less than PhP2.0 M choices - the VGT ones. The non-VGT mid-to-top end pull is just ok but not to rave about. In terms of rating here, it's not overrated.

If you're looking for truly offroad use SUV (not just passing by backroads), then those coil springs on the Montysport are not the ideal ones.

Whilst the Monterosport is not overrated and it's relatively cheaper, arguably with the exemption of its 4x4 GTV, there are a lot better SUVs out there just for a tad bit more. The Fortuner 3.0 D-4D 4x4 is better overall and the cost of ownership is slightly a bit more than the GTV 4x4. But the servicing or maintenance cost is cheaper with the Toyota from the start and throughout its lifetime. The Chevrolet Trailblazer 2.8 Duramax is also better overall performance, but not its looks hehe....

^^most SUVs come with coil-springs nowadays. get a land rover defender or a toyota LC70, if you want to increase your manly-man points.

OT: I'd rather get a diesel powered innova over a fortuner, an MS or a Trailblazer.

There are solutions for injectors that have issues

Always change your fuel filter every 10,000km
Never refuel to those stations that have low ground level
& add 2T oil to diesel to avoid/prevent injector failure
