You are correct, parts will be a pain. But with the right connections, OEM parts are quite easy to find. It also helps that we have a good relationship with the Ford casa here.

I think the Focus leans towards the enthusiast side. Similar to the Mazda3. It prioritizes driving dynamics over practicality.
That's the point. The Civic, Jetta, and especially the Mazda 3 are all great handling cars with none of the negative perceptions of the Focus.

So as a buyer - why will I get a Focus when a 3/Civic/Jetta drives just as well without being a headache?

This is not a hypothetical scenario - all 3 of these cars sell far better than the Focus. So the buying market really doesn't see any reason to buy the Focus over those cars. There are outliers here and there (like you) but in general, there's no interest in the Focus.
